SINGAPORE: Commuters returning to work or school in the new year can expect more frequent train services on the North-South and East-West lines.
During the peak of the morning rush hours, which are between 7.00 am and 9.00 am, it'll take between 2.14 minutes and 2.5 minutes for a train to arrive.
The waiting time for
trains during the peak of the evening rush hours, which are from 5.00
pm to 7.30 pm, is between 2.5 minutes and 3 minutes.
Train frequency was affected by the service disruptions and stoppages on December 15 and 17.
It was temporarily lowered to between 3.75 minutes and 5 minutes, as 13 trains were damaged and taken off service.
SMRT said on Sunday that 12 of the damaged trains have been repaired and are back in service.
The remaining one will be repaired when spare parts are available.
