NEL train delayed after electrical surge

SINGAPORE: A loud bang was heard coming from a train along the North-East Line at about 7.20 on Monday evening.
Operator SBS Transit said it was due to a sudden electrical surge on the train heading towards Punggol.
A short in the surge protector resulted in a loud sound.
A spokesperson said as a safety precaution, passengers were asked to disembark at Hougang station.
This caused a delay of nine minutes for the service towards Punggol.
SBS Transit said announcements were made to commuters and the affected train was sent back to the depot for checks.
Commuter Alexander Chng said: "There was loud bang, or something, between Kovan and Hougang station.
"The train lights went off but the emergency lights came on.
"The train made its way to Hougang station where most people alighted. Some people were screaming but the train seemed to proceed as per normal. And there were no announcements or anything."

They are so common.
SMRT's is different because is 7 HOURS
I would happily take NEL over SMRT lines anytime simply because it has been more reliable and fewer people take.
Its just like how SMRT issued a well-intended post about slowing down during rain and people whalloped it. Some people can never be pleased.
That said, I'm thankful I don't live in SMRT area.

I think need to have mass people dying in MRT like derail or something then maybe the CEO will step down... otherwise she is most likely to cling on to the job as long as possible due to the high salary... hiak hiak hiak...

In fact, if they are responsible both Lui and Saw should resign or step down.

it's hard to step down from a million dollars kind of salary every year.
i tell you if the salary is like $2000, i think they would have step down long ago instead of saying things like i will not resign because it's my responsibilities to bla bla bla...

You divide $1,000,000 over 365 days, you get more than $2,700 a day.
Will you get excited at earning $2,700 every day?

I will be excited at earning $2700 per day...but I wont be excited to go to work... I'll be more excited to go elsewhere shopping (maybe being carried on a sedan with 8 hunks carrying it) while the staff does all the works
When something happens, just arrow the staff and say "I'll stay to make things right~"
Now wait, doesn't tat sounds like someone else???
