STOMPer i-witness was heading to Jurong East this
morning when he noticed these large white knobs on the MRT train. "What
are they for?" the STOMPer asks.
STOMPer i-witness comments:
"I was taking the train and I saw these things above the board with the MRT routes.
"I've been taking train for the past 15 years.. This is definitely something that I haven't seen before.
"I don't really know what they could be for. Mobile technology? I'm not sure."
CCTV Camera, smoke detector or something?
They are RF microwave plasma generators. Depending on the transmission power, it is able to disrupt remotely controlled explosives from detonating.
