If Raffles place is the SECOND Biggest Station, which is the biggest?
Originally posted by Bngauw:If Raffles place is the SECOND Biggest Station, which is the biggest?
Dhoby Ghaut =D
NS18 Braddell: The first station in Singapore and first underground station in Singapore to have side platforms.
CC9 Paya Lebar: The first underground station in Singapore to have a middle platform. The first station to be able to see the platform screen doors interior fully.
CG1 Expo: First station to have suspension roof or whatever you call it, because I'm not particularly interested in what is it called but more on putting in stations.
CC2 Bras Basah: First station to have water... I mean glass roof, with water on it. And longest escalator, and even longer if you count that short one linking B4 to platform.
NS4 Choa Chu Kang: First station to have interchange with an LRT Line.
EW27 Boon Lay: Longest time to hold the "Terminus" title, and became a non-terminus. Or also known as ex-terminus that has held the terminus title for a long long period of time.
CG2 Changi Airport: First station to have a non-paid area ontop of a paid area, crossing from one end to the other end, or commonly called the "bridge".
CC1 Dhoby Ghaut: Smallest standing area Circle Line station.
NS17 Bishan: Only station in Singapore to be at grade.
NE12 Serangoon: One of the stations (I'm not sure the others, I doubt there's others) in Singapore that has sunked before, sanked by 1cm.
EW24/NS1 Jurong East: Only station in Singapore with that (that...) type of roof.
NS2 Bukit Batok - the only station got small tunnel located at south of the station
EW21 Buona Vista - currently the tallest station the EWL platform is at level 4
NS21 Newton - the shallowest underground station on EWL/NSL
PTC Punggol - Is the only LRT station which got 3 tracks running through the station
(covered by granite stab)
CG1 Expo - the only station lift using hydraulics lift instead of electrical lift
Bukit Batok also sunk before.
2007 landslide incident
On the 11th of January 2007, continuous heavy rainfall in Singapore caused soil near the MRT tunnel exit facing Bukit Batok Station heading towards Jurong East to loosen, which sequence of events caused a landslide. Trains were forced to slow down and be cautious near the site since the incident as SMRT hired contractors to stabilize the soil there. As a result, just like the incident at Serangoon MRT Station, trains between Bukit Batok and Bukit Gombak stations had to pass by the tunnel at a lower speed.
______________________________________________________________
Raffles Place also got most exits - 11.
_____________________________________________________________
CCL / DTL (u / c) Promenade MRT station is not only the deepest at 43 m, but the first interchange to have island (DTL) and stacked side (CCL) - The first one to have two types of platforms. The second is DTL Stevens MRT station.
Two question on this station:
My guess:
25 m to 28 m. Reasons to support my answer: DHG is currently second deepest at 29 m. Promenade wouldn't cut it and steal the position.
____________________________________________________________
Bedok Town Park MRT station: Second underground double islanded platform, based on my take, I believed its due to the presence of ERL, as not enough interchange.
Make your guesses.

Two question on this station:
- I had always admired its design, but why do you think CCL needs to use stacked side? THERE ARE NO ANSWERS.
- Currently, how deep do you think CCL Harbourfront - Bound platform is? (Excluding the DTL)? Also, THERE ARE NO ANSWERS.
My guess:
- Due to space constraits, but not mentioned in Wikip.

Bukit Batok didn't sank, it's the tunnel.
And what does White Sands Shopping Centre got to do with the "amazing" Pasir Ris?
At first I actually made a table like this:
Station: Location: Remarks:
Pasir Ris blah blah blah
But the format did not appear as it was.Guess it's jus Pasir Ris Stn in short.
Expo: the entrance/exit is one far end of the station and good luck to those who alighted from the wrong end of the train.
Changi Airport: Only station where platform and turnstiles are same level?
NS22 Orchard is too dim.. I hate it. :(

In terms of ex-terminus, yes. In terms of longest terminus, no. Anyway, the longest ex-Terminus will be replaced by Marina Bay since NSL will be extended (in 2014) but way before that (In 2012), CCL Marina Bay Extension makes Marina Bay a second station for double terminus excluding Punggol LRT which hmm well, not so until Marina Bay - Harbourfront link is closed up by dunno when.
Isn't Dakota the smallest station in Singapore?
City Hall,Raffles Place:First interchange stations in Singapore
Dhoby Ghaut:Largest Interchange in Singapore, longest announcements
HarbourFront:The (going to be) only interchange/terminus for all lines there
Botanic Gardens:the nearest MRT station with the most letters
Expo:least amount of letters
One-North:the only station to have a non-alphabet sign in it's name
Jurong East:Nosiest station in Singapore.DSD,construction,announcements...
Unrelated
EWL:only line to have ALL it's terminals interchange-free as of NOW

I think CC7 Mountbatten and CC8 Dakota Station are the same... I' guess only. Don't take it real.
Serangoon
Longest travellator in mrt station currently
