  I happened to take 317/318 before, ride from TNM to KAL all the way there is a bad smoke-like smell below the train

  Ytd NSL Trainset 11/12 STARIS already cui liao. It keeps on showing this until Yishun :

  "This Train Service terminates at Boon Lay EW28Pioneer EW29 Joo Ko"

  "Next Station Boon Lay EW28Pioneer EW29 Joo Ko"

  And the map also not operating, so does the announcement system. Hence, the SL need to announce at every station...

  Jammed friction brakes...When it cannot release and gets dragged, heat and smoke occurs...

  If you have seen an e-brake done at a station you'll feel how much heat is generated by the friction brakes just standing on the platform.
