s'pore is not like other countries whereby you can own a vehicle for as long as you like..
when its got to go, it must go; no matter how gd the condition is..
the engines can be sold to like thailand for example for use with their vehicles..
imagine a vehicle (not a mercedes-benz) having an engine from an old ambulance..
well in short, it's just like a heart transplant; when a person dies & donates his/her own organs, another person could have a better use for it..
They just realised that an empty MRT carriage is not a realistic scenario for them to practise whatever they want to practise.
So have to sell off.
it's not really empty..
the interior looks almost (if not all) like the C751s..

No, its not. It was the money train that has since decommissioned, which is a C151 but modified.

Guys, the train carraige has been sold of for $4000 to a scrap dealer. However, ITE has plans to buy over the carraige from the succesful bidder for educational purposes
In an article in TNP released today, the scrap dealer also dealt with 3 former CX-100 skytrains from Changi Airport and claimed that one of them is now in Bangkok as part of a display item infront of a restauraunt.
For the rest of the vehicles involved, the most expensive bid is for a hydraulic excavator which sold for $81,000 followed by a HRT (Heavy Rescue Tender) which sold for $60,000. The most cheaper bids came in the form of mini buses which went under the hammer for $300 - $650 whereas a Red Rhino went for $500. All vehicles auctioned off cannot be used in Singapore and the new owners of the auctioned vehicles will need to show SCDF that they either scrapped the vehicles or exported them overseas within one month after they recieved the vehicles.
