Hi all, just want to know why is DT4 missing in the LTA train map? I read in the forum about the cut-and-cover work in Hume Ave station (DT4).
What is this box?
Maybe nothing to do with MRT...

Welcome to Train forums.
Well, ever since the public complained on the closure of Buangkok (Especially as there is some flats at around half km away and originally not intended to closed and leave it as an white elephant) and Woodleigh [Not so, as the station is located in cemetry that had since closed and the only benefitters were a small condo near there and people living in Joo Seng Road / Mount Veron police camp mainly the Nepalese ones.] (The "first station" to be closed / not operating along with the line was Tanah Merah, but since the residents there appealed to their MP and hence no choice but to open Tanah Merah and hence the first station not operating along with the line were Buangkok and Woodleigh), the government has announced of no more mothballing of stations, meaning one will not see Buangkok incident again, but instead, what happened will be like Bukit Brown (CC18) / Kampong Bharu (NE2) where a structure / provision was made respectively.
What happened was on DT4, there will be a station as the distance between Beauty World to Hillview is about 2.6km, undoubtly one of the longer stretch between any stations (Comparable ones are Khatib - YCK, Expo - CGA, Outram Park - HBF etc), but since they cant build station and leave it there like Woodleigh as promised, hence they just build a station structure as provision, and to fit the interior once it is ready.
FYI, DT4 is located near Old Fort Factory, the war memorial part as well. So I see no reason of no MRT station in long term plans, but I am afraid if they build a station now, the only benefitters is a few tourists visit that memorial factory and the residents of the condo nearby.
To add on, the LTA had recently posted tenders for TSL, out of it, T4, T4a and T10 will be like this DT4 / Bukit Brown station where they are slated as RTS (Rapid Transit System) structure, meaning to be a future station. (T4 / T4a should be around Mandai / Upper Thomson - Lentor area while T10 is likely to be at Whitely Road)
Will they BUILT Bukit Brown stn then?

If your will=why,So that they will not regret building a station there when it becomes more developed/more passenger demand.
If not then it is being built.
Otherwise i don't understand what you're trying to say.

they will fit out the interiors and get the station ready for service only when the demand comes. it is very much still in the middle of a cemetery now.

Well demand rises with every coming hungry ghost festival.JK~
So DT4 is already confirmed but just don't want to built it because scared got 'white elephant' incident.
DT4 like NS6, NS12 and NE2 FUTURE STATIONS.

If nothing to do with SMRT. LTA dont plan DT4 liao. On the North South Line, SMRT confirmed the NS14 and NS15 a long distance still don't build Lentor Station. They didn't take as Future station. They code have confirmed unless they change like CGE EW28 > CG1 and EW29 > CG2
Future stations are built when there is something developed at that area of the station and also whether it is feasible.Like NS12,there are only forests and factories nearby so a station is not needed. If something more are developed there like another condo or HDB flats, then a station needed to be built BECAUSE for the benefits and the convenience of the residents living there. The more population, the more facilities required.
So the reason not building the DT4 station now is to wait for future developments so LTA will not waste money :D
Lentor MRT station was planned as Disney used to offer to build a theme park at Lentor. SMRT wanted to have Lentor station to transport those people to the theme park. But since idea was rejected, no point building MRT stations as there's no longer any under-planning theme parks any more.

i think roads are being built near the supposed "NS12"
The nearest buildings are
Yishun Sapphire and Yishun Emerald

it would be like Sunny Bay of the MTR on the TCL
side platforms minus the interchange
problems like car that mount the rails ...

No problem one, can do another Dover in Lentor, Sungei Kadut (NS6), Canberra / Simpang (NS12) and Kampong Bharu (NE2)

How would you do "another Dover" at NE2?

but for lentor case
thick wall must be in place otherwise ...
another track incursion will occur

Possible. It will be done via Cut Cover as no box is done at that station yet. The only "problem" is where is that station's specific location and exact tunnel alignments so that they could fence up the correct place and cut cover the station while keeping the station with a tube shape.

Most likely for Lentor, it would be moving upwards which is nearer to Khatib and not the point of Ground floor as HHPSD can be an issue.

Bishan's NSL platforms are on ground level and have been upgraded for FHPSDs ...

Would be interesting to know how they would knock down one side of the tunnel wall while ensuring safety and smooth operation are meet. Most probably to be done in the few hours when train service is off.

Also possible then, depending on the developments there and I feel that there will have a development there as now got TSL (Which will past through there somehow, not really intersect NSL but parallel to it on the West which is more ulu than the one in NSL part.)
West more ulu- no wonder no lines.
I believe if you disagree with me you' ll say this: West got
@langer68
EWL Ulu Pandan?
Err... bear incident; that make it ulu??
Ulu Sembawang also very ulu... hahas!
Perhaps anyplace with the word 'ulu' is ulu.
