By 2013, Promenade MRT Station will be deepest

Sorry Bras Basah. You'll be replaced soon.
The Highest Station may be EW30 or EW31
Btw, our stations are getting deeper and deeper... O
Hear say that Rochor has 45m deep. Bras Basah is 35m deep = 11 storey deep. So Promenade should be around 43 ~ 45m deep.
And it is known that EW30 will be tallest one when compared with EW31, maybe with a difference of 3m?

what about dhoby ghaut??...it seems quite deep too..

What about Raffles Place then?? It is the only EWL / NSL station to have B4. (Excluding Dhoby Ghaut / Outram Park where their B4 is added for CCL / NEL purpose)
What happened was, Raffles Place the deepest station - - 21.4m
NEL, then win them with Dhoby Ghaut B5 - - 28m (Circle Line DBG is B4)
Then, the Circle, much power with successful Bras Basah at 35m, and rumoured that Nicoll Highway was to be 40m but collapsed at point of 30m or so. (I thought that was 35m as well, hence became damn shallow, at like no more than 15m deep. The shallowest station should be Newton or Novena, as sources differ at the depth of 11.2m)
Now, we got Downtown Line - Promenade at 43m deep. (Rochor might go down as deep as 45m and hear say that in Bugis there got a lot of slidings for C951s to park there before Gali Batu Depot / KCD is ready, hence it might be a "MTD" - Multi Storey Train Depot, not so depot la.)
Will they dig even deeper for TSL and ERL?
No surprise if our stations gets deeper and deeper... The only solution to save land... Next time if u see HDBs being built underground, dun be surprised.... Now 4 Million population so crammed already... Gov want target 6 Million... o.O

We have already crossed the 5 millions mark.

HDB built underground can't la.. We need fresh air...

HDB underground = how to dry your clothes? So HDB underground = CMI!
But I would expect more 30 ~ 40 storey (OR minimum 25 storey instead of 15) storey flat.

Jurong can't have HDB above the 25 storey ....
Future HDB will be going higher
I am hoping in 20 or 30 more years, the govt will start developing Lim Chu Kang as there is no more space outside...
Imagine a Lim Chu Kang Street 21, Lim Chu Kang Ave 3....
Or Lim Chu Kang Mall. Lim Chu Kang MRT Station (WRL01)

haha..imagine the government gonna removed tons of graves and tombstones...btw, Lim chu kang is where all the camps and life-firing area are situated, dont think they would develop civilization there...

hahas.... not really Tombstones... Lim Chu Kang don't really have tombstones. It's at Old Choa Chu Kang where tombstones can be found. I don't think theres tombstones in LCK
i've created a new topic.

Next time if Jurong has high buildings, all should have red lights (to prevent planes from colliding) on top of the building. Jurong West flats has not been used to its maximum potential yet. The newer Jurong West has flats of up to 20 storeys in height, yet the old Jurong West flats usually has 12 or 13 storeys.
hw Promenade stn is designed- obviously there would be a B5. But what purpose must they ve B5? Stack DTL beside CCL (DHG / MYM bound trains) can lo.
EW31 would be the highest of all stations (forever)
no more aboveground stations
actually ah
most of it will be underground except for later tuas south stations
later one more station on the DTL
"sorry ah Promenade, ... no longer the deepest liao ..."

EW30 will be slightly higher than 31.
All of them will be underground?
Why. No space? Nah. That is part of it.
The other half is, if you build a underground station, you can have CD shelter (So Sengkang, Punggol, Stevens was some of the exceptions), but if you build an aboveground station, you definitely cannot have CD shelter (Tell me which above ground MRT / LRT got CD shelter one).
I noe earlier got ppl wished that Bedok Resevoir / TSL to be above ground, but that impossible.
Reasons: Where in these 2 areas (Bedok Resvoir / North, areas along TSL especially Mandai / Thomson there) got CD shelter? Then why BLE / Tuas extension can above ground? Answer: Apart of distance, consider that Pioneer flats are mainly new flats = automatically every unit got 1 CD sheleter, and Tuas Extension all factories, who really go there? So, no need CD shelter = no need on underground.
i really hope Marina Pier MRT can be built above-ground

You wished. That will be CMI. Since it is already deep underground, making it above ground cost more, I think la.
Would the new Promenade DTL be very far from CCL? or directly below? (doubt so cos of safety)
its quite saddening to think that half CCL Promenade stn is going to be useless forever... higher cost to run.
Spore so conjested, now we go downwards.
In future, pple might live underground if Spore hits 50 million.

if singpaore hit 50 million, it will sink...:x

So many digging....I dont know whether the hdb will collapse or not. No doubt we have pump many deep deep pillars to built hdb, but the soil and granite deep inside can hold the thousands of tons of weight?
