wonder how it sounds like...

Racist / Countryist statement? Anyway, our dear Downtown Line are China made as well. (I think same location as well)

Maybe a mixture of C751B/C651/C151 ?
For the design, i dun want it be black. Hope they can change the colours.
Maybe blue with silver or red
So gt any c151A body parts or anything in BSD?

it's still in mainland CHN. It will be delivered in a container to SIN. And will go straight to depot and test it.

If there is, it will be the STARiS. ;-)

Just to make sure safety is the highest priority.

I just thought of another thing! STARIS 2.0 for C151A!
um... maybe... But most unlikely because C751B already got LCD so I think SMRT thinking of upgrading STARIS for C751Bs

So... What if majority choose white and red? SMRT gonna waste time and remove stains? Nah... Black and red looked so stylish... :)

Thought you guys all knew already. Japanese provide the blueprint, while the Chinese factory builds it.

It was restickered black in the first place because they couldn't get rid of the stains on the white C151s...

Plus the 151 came unpainted, only treated with glass bead surface blasting and application of the red strip to save costs.
The specifications of the trains are from Japanese and procurement of parts also. China CSR Qingdao Sifang only does assembly and on-site testing. This is partly due to the stretched factory capacity in Japan. This point Mr sgbuses has already mentioned and I just add-on.
I think the black and red exterior is a corporate colour that all future trains will adopt, refurbished or new.
its the interior that may look different. right now without much info it can be like what C651 is to C151, or it can have a totally new design.

Does the Chinese factory actually manufacture the parts, or just assemble it? If it's the former, I'm facepalming.
I wondering how are the sound of C151A... don't tell me same with C751B sound & exterior...
@youyuan
Five trains? The rest?
I still think it will sound like a C371, or any other recent Kawasaki trains.
I saw this on the Straits Times last Saturday, and from what I see, it is black and red and grey.

Assembling and testing only.
Don't go too extreme against China products. Their high speed rails are running 350 km/h and its a daily affair. Assembling trains that does Metro speed is peanuts compared to that.
CSR Qingdao and Kawasaki Heavy Ind Japan as consortium is most reliable; they did the first batch high speed rail trains for China (CRH2) as well.
Consumer products they may face scandals but not the same can directly be applied to hi-tech products like these. Besides its KHI Japan which does the procurement of parts.
I wonder how the interior of the C151A would look like.
haha.juz like corolla altis, designed in japan, assembled in thailand. but still so ex.
(sry,abit out of topic)
hope that the new c151a won't be as noisy as c151.and it will be as smooth as c751a
DTL trains are also made in CHINA!
