because they've done their studies to see at which frequency can ensure the trains will be close to full hence maximising profits every second of operation.
i think the older train line may not be possible because it is a Man system......
The other day they miss the stop at Jurong East interchanged and they had to forego that Stop......and move forward. So the people at Jurong east can't board the train and those folks inside the train cannot come out but to take another train to U-turn.....
The queue up idea was suggested long ago, but was rejected because it would cause it would take additional time for passengers to board.
Despite the mayhem at boarding and alighting the present "barge in / force your way out" is the fastest.
The other suggestion of separate In doors and Out doors, would be slightly better than the queuing.
Queuing is bound to fail, because the guy behind will want to board the train and the one infront want to wait for another train, and the queue will break up.
Btw, its a jingle, not a song.
Plz, stop it, itss very irritating
At least I didn't here anything at bugis
Queues in front of train doors fail only in Singapore. They work almost anywhere else. A stupid jingle like this one will only raise suicide rates at stations.
The Train is Coming! The Train is Coming!
What bla bla bla?
- Train is coming, train is coming, train is coming... Please start quening. Love your ride!
Don't take public transport, own a car if you can. If not stop all those complaint and accept it.

-_- Never mind.
i don't have problems with the arrival song especially in the morning.....But i find the MRT poster really really Dump....I sometime wonder if MRT does any market research....?
All you need to do is to look at the posters close up than look at the position of the wording........It has a reverse effect of demeaning the people who gave up seat of "gracefulness" and message of "Love" and Kindness sending the wrong message to the public by Acting like a clown and making fun to those who gave seat.
I sometime wonder if they really look at what they post up?
