Pah.just wait until 12.30pm @ JUR on fridays. It's even worse than SBST svc 98.
Giving up seats to the elderly--no.
Giving up seats to anoyone with priority--no
Giviing way to alighting passengers--no
Moving to the left--more like finding a place to stand
quckly tappping your EZ-link card on the reader to make way--all i see are slow coaches waiting for the scraps
Moving to the center/side of car to make way--when??
After some time. . .
Playing on the train--yes
forgetting about the poor courtesy lion--yes
blocking the entrance--yes
Pretending to sleep so that there is no need to give up seat--yes
In my opinion this is better than taking svc98 on fridays at 12.30pm

I don't like taping out at JUR..... (fare gates) When it's evening and so many passengers alight..........

One more thing... Several passengers using escalator... And if you need the fastest speed for going back home from work. (Walk almost run).
You prefer using escalator (when many passengers) or you prefer using the staircase (no passenger, may be one or two)?
guys.. don't be like me.. sometimes i shout to the commuters or knock on the window to ask the commuter to move in, if me with my friends when my good old ITE days wants to alight and 1 of my friends says "saper diri depan pintu kena tolak" (who stand infrom the the doors kena push) den push the kiasu commuters or last few weeks ago make aunty fall down and the aunty blame me then i say "aunty siao uh! you cannot see the platform gap uh? next time don't be so kiasu laaa" and walk away... (oops)
Speaking of giving way to alighting passengers, I had this experience last year when taking last trains on 31st December 2009.
I intended to alight at CTH so when approaching I stand at the door. When the doors opened, I couldn't alight at all. The boarding passengers just squeezed their way in and I got pushed to the gangway area. Next thing I hear is "doors are closing" then I had to alight at DBG instead.

i prefer using staircase if at JUR,
if other non busy station i will wait for escalator to be less passengers sometimes if hurry i use staircase

For me, I'm sure using staircase when it's overcrowded. BUT no one using staircase who want to be a first person? If I alone, will be some embarrassing.
Personally, I don't give up seats to anyone. That's because I don't sit on the seats. Though I noticed alot of people prefer standing at the glass panel, beside the door.

for me not so embarrassing... just the staircase and it exercise.. =)

Same here. Singaporeans, I feel, care far too much about their outward appearance and would rather be a sheep than a shark. I take the stairs more often, whether I'm the only one using them or not.
Using escalator, I am personally worried abt safety and time to leave station..
I may prefer to use the staircase and avoid those busy stns.. Ppl tend ti crowd at the exit and movement was SLOW then

I like standing the glass panel beside the door, you know why? Makes me feel comfortable.
+1 Film easily.
One thing to force ppl to move in and not leaning,
Start to remove another 84 seats from the current full seating arrangement

Implement the "four seat" system in the middle two carriages for the refurb C651. Only four seat available, the seat near the gangway.
in my mind..
no seats at the middle, left the seats near the joint.. all the seats for priority seat/reserve seat. no people except people who need more, cannot seat and kena fine $1000 xD
I try not to take MRT on peak hrs.Really terrible sia knn.The only ting i hate is the bloody ppl pushing here and there....
Yoz so many replies.
Hmm...There are of course selfish people on the mrt...but expected lah.. i saw some aunties hoarding the seat besides her.
Hahaha.
But most of the timei tend to witness kind act and even bangala giving up seats to elderly ppl ...
Maybe in the future one C651 were to go refurb, perform a demo trial for one cargo train whereby all passengers have to stand up all the way
@smrt3099: that will not possibly happen as people will want to seat !

LOVE THE IDEA!
Just one will do, activate it during peak hours

i'd love to see it in action. wanna see how those stupid people who always rely on seats complain.

Like that sure save $$$, just replace wall panels okay already, actually if you want to cut cost further no need to even replace wall, just paste full-concept ad on the interior.
