BPLRT set 116 is back in passenger service.
I'm not exactly sure why would they thought of designing the Platform Screen Gates at SengKang LRT in this manner...
The PSD only covers the middle, not the entire platform. The ends of the platform don't have PSD installed, niether do they have any doors like the ones on EWL. The LRT trains will then stop at the station, at the space free of PSD. I mean, people can still jump down to the tracks.
There was once an incident at SengKang station whereby a person tried to commit suicide. Not sure how it goes. But it affected the train service on SKLRT greatly. The whole platform service was closed due to that.
Set 102 (BPLRT) announcements so loud

Well firstly, LRTs are not that fast to kill (i'm saying near the station), unless you happen to be squashed and crush underneath it (which is very unlikely). Mostly, they only end up in the hospital with "fatal injuries". Secondly, though it may affect BPLRT services, who in the right mind would wanna "fatal injured" themselves if they wanna suicide?

I wonder if they could have a Sengkang LRT expansion towards Buangkok, when the demand hits high.
Also, I really hope they consider having 2-LRT Carriages during peak hours, like the ones in BPLRT. It was mentioned in the Chinese newspaper that they were considering having this idea, but upgrade (extending the station platforms) is required.
P.S. The only time I've seen a SKLRT having a two-train carriage is when it is returning to the depot in West Loop.

the stations are already long enough for at least two trains....but i agree that why are they putting single trains rather than double...
they cannot be coupled
thought those on the Changi Airport SkyTrains are able to do so

It all depends on the demand. The Sengkang and Punggol LRT Lines have equal demand for all routes served, so it can run single trains on a higher frequency. The Bukit Panjang LRT however has more demand (roughly twice more) on Service B than a during the morning peak hours, hence, running 2-car trains on Service B and 1-car trains on Service A will justify the amount of trains with the actual passenger demands.

I think the ATO equipment cannot handle 2-car trains at the moment. Station stop points are located at the center of the station, not the ends.
Votings:
Who like Punggol - Sengkang loop more or Bukit Panjang loop more?
Me: Pun - Sgk Loop
