Today i board a MRT from Bedok to Tanjong Pagar then from Tanjong Pagar to Parkway Parade(Bus 196) then from Parkway Parade to Bedok SCDF Station bus stop(Bus 31) to change to bus 17 but it became a new fare when i tap on the bus 17. It cost me S$1.84. After exchanging on bus 17 to reach my destination, it cost S$1.09. I pay a total of S$2.93 for the whole journey. I tap out from Bus31 and tap in from Bus 17.
The transfer is also made within the 45 min period of grace for transfer rebate.
Something is wrong somewhere.
How long did you take for the trip?
Maximum time taken for 1 journey in order for it to be a transfer : 2 hours.
You can make a transfer up to 45 mins allowance BUT you must also complete your whole journey in two hours or it is a new journey
Sometimes distance fare is cheaper than the original fare....
Oh is it, i don know about the 2 hour thingy.
Thanks
LOL. I thought allowed to transfer in and out of train system for 2 times.....

You only can go in train system ONCE
Meaning
Bus + Bus + MRT + Bus - 1 trip
Bus + MRT + Bus + MRT - 2 trips
Noted.
Next round, fare hike again. Coming soon.

due to new pay by distance.. when transfering there are no transfer rebate..
There's a maximum 2 hrs ride.
This 2 hrs thingy has been all along alrdy.
travelling by bus is a simple affair until this new scheme.
I got this problem yesterday too.
I took 800 from my stop to Yishun Bus Interchange, taking around 10 minutes, then transferred to 854 within 5 minutes. Finished the journey in Bedok in around 1 hour. Then I transferred to the MRT within 10 minutes, then joyride for approximately 45 minutes, then transfer to 858 within 10 minutes. Completed my journey in 40 minutes.
So to summarise:
800 --- 10 mins ---> Yishun Bus Int 5 mins ---> 854 --- 1 hour ---> Bedok Bus Int 10 mins --- MRT --- 45 mins ---> Changi Airport 10 mins --- 858 --- 40 mins ---> Yishun MRT Station
Total journey time including transfer: 3 hours
But the fare was reset when I entered the MRT system at BDK, that's weird.
The previous journey:
171 --- 35 mins ---> Bukit Timah 30 mins --- 184 --- 20 mins ---> Clementi --- MRT 10 mins --- 2 hours ---> Clementi --- 184 --- 30 mins ---> Bukit Panjang
Total journey time including transfer: 4 hours 5 minutes
That worked, with a total fare of 58¢, which was perfectly normal.

The fare reseted because you took at least 2 hours...
I know how to go to Tampines and back to Chai Chee paying $0.58 only.
Abusing Distance fares... Muahahahhaha

Ok Imagine you started at 12 and ended at 4.05pm
Eh wait, you got kena overcharged penalty or got bus breakdown? When the bus breakdown or overcharged penalty, it will reset the previous trip and refund the used fare for the previous trip.

how many times must ppl say?
There's no 'rules' to follow. The 2 hrs has been there all along!
There are ppl who save and ppl who dun.
It's not difficult, u make it difficult for yourself to understand. Now it's simply say I take 5km bus A, 6km bus B it's based on 11km bus fare in total.
Or 5km MRT, 6km bus then it's 11km MRT fare.

just because the 2hrs has been there all along does not mean it is not one of the rules.

nonono
Bus and MRT Fare is the SAME
Unless if you take the CCL or the NEL, there would be a premium "surcharge" to add on to the fare.
The 2 hrs rule was to prevent people for enjoying air-con the whole day.
Ang Mo Kio Station to Changi Airport? How you ride? At least 3 to transfers... Don't why SMRT allowed us 2 transfers... Anyone know?
Solution 1: NSL AMK to CCL BSH to EWL PYL to CGL TNM
Solution 2: NSL AMK to EWL CTH to CGL TNM
