I wondering if 7 years is abit too long?
It was mentioned that phase 4 and phase 5 will start operation at the same time. Until now, I still have not see them constructing the entrance to Haw Par Villa station.
I guess opening phase 5 in early 2011 is not possible then.

It was reported that CCL4 and CCL5 will operate together by second half of 2011. I guess is that they will open CCL4 / 5 and Woodleigh together, as it was reported that Woodleigh would open by August 2011 as the international school is completed. (The school will have about 3000 students). Woodleigh's source was from Wikipedia.
There's a rumoured Stage 6 of the CCL that closes the 4km gap between HBF & Promenade stns whose lease expires at 2027 (17 yrs later).
is that True?

It was mooted the idea --- True
The lease expires on 2027 --- True
CCL Stage 6 to be built by 2030 ---- Not sure. It is possible.

This map already tell us something.
Everyday got to bear with the jams at Farrer Road and again at Holland Road. All jams are make possible due to the constructions of Circle Line Stations at both respective stations.
What make me more piss was that the signboard along Holland Ave was previously stated: 'Construction till 31 Mar 2009', then it changed to 'Construction till 31 Dec 2009', and finally the final version 'Construction till 31 Dec 2010'.
And now we have the minister telling us that the construction was on-track.
It seems we are working on a moving target.

Yup! I agree with you... Just like supermarkets making their prices sky high and slashing them down by a bit to make it look like they having some damn POWER sales to con aunties...
We can all change our names to your name liao =p

I have a question regarding the CCL-NEL HBF alignment... I'm not sure if this has been discussed before... Do u guys have any idea where the CCL platform will be with reference to the NEL platform? I went there quite recently and I had a feeling it is directly under the NEL platform... I have no idea what's going on down there... Verification anyone?

There was somebody said potentially is NEXT to the NEL platform (Known as current Platform A is a "middle platform") but I doubt so (Source from LTA MRT map where you can compare various interchanges logo from Tanah Merah / Jurong East one, City Hall / Raffles Place and Outram Park / Serangoon / Dhoby Ghaut / Bishan. Harbourfront one is same as Promenade [With inclusion of DTL] / City Hall / Raffles Place (The interchange logo is no different from Tanah Merah / Jurong East)
Source: LTA
The only nearest hint to your query is Vivocity, there was a signboard that states the construction thing and a station map to it, and from that, it seemed to suggest (NOT so clear) that, the crossover before Harbourfront from Outram Park, is that, to connect with CCL.(A bit stupid, I think they have screwed up everything + waste tax payer's money) and IF that is true, then the existing NEL platform A has to be "middle track" and not directly below it (It IS directly NEXT to it)
Is there an underpass across Farrer Road at Farrer Road CCL Station? If there is, why there is a need to have a sheltered overhead bridge across the Farrer Road CCL Station?
Hope unlike Tai Seng Station which has no underpass across Upper Paya Lebar Road, hope Farrer won't end up the same fate.

You can go to Marina Bay from Woodlands via Jurong East or just ride the Southbound train. SAME FARE!
We can't increase the frequency until the signalling system is upgraded of there are more than 5 depots (Tuas depot is suppose to house the C151As and the other bunch of "SPARE" trains). To achieve 1 minute frequency we need 200+ trains while we currently only got 106 trains.
Hi dragonaxe. do you think we will ever achieve 1 min freq?

They're bringing in more trains as well as upgrading Jurong East Int to make it 2 mins freq. But it's not going to be of any use if they keep on increase MRT lines at e same time and removing bus svs.
Tat's why the policy is no more towards MRT but w/ both MRT and buses.
how you know that they are removing bus services? :(:(
Harbourfront looks like they 'built on two sides'. First, they build on the left side of the Exit E (passengers need to use the left side, then). Then they bulit the other side. What clues do this show?

I think I get what you mean. I've always believed that interchanges with 1 white circle meant that we only have to cross platform, or no need walk so much, while multiple circles like OTP and DBG meant we had to walk to another mrt station.
Why would they have wanted to connect NEL to CCL? All the while no link one what... 6-car vs 3 or 4-car (back then they havent decided 3 or 4 yet i think)
Now that we're talking about HBF platforms, what is the reason for platform B being so useless? I know its becos got no crossover from OTP to HBF platform B, only after HBF... but why did they build it like that? If there was no reason they might as well have built one platform.
Indeed. But the layout here looks like this: (Im trying my best)
============================================= NEL plat

( Link)

===========B============(To VivoCity)=========A==========
The last time I see area B, it was u / c.
I highly blileve all of u know part A (what I labeled) has been done and I can see the very very normal CCL board <Welcome to SMRT Circle Line>, but I find it rather funny to construct both sides (correct me if im wrong). In the above, U may find that it looks as if a side platform was used, and they are constructing them.
Circle Line Stage 5 Construction Site - The Progress
(November 2010)
Pictures taken from a Double-Decker Bus.
CC25 Haw Par Villa
CC26 Pasir Panjang
CC27 Labrador Park
CC28 Telok Blangah
They have just started building the entrance to Haw Par Villa station a few weeks ago, the entrance is just next to the villa, along Pasir Panjang Rd. Those structures in the photos at West Coast Highway next to YESS Centre are ventilation shafts.
The pedestrian overhead bridge connecting Labrador Park station to PSA Building is still under construction.
It seems that CCL5 will delay opening.
200th: But maybe they've finish every single thing below and just need to compele entrance and done? You noe, Haw Par Villa has 2 exits I guess.
Thks for the photos; I would like some for HBF.

CC29 HarbourFront is at the NEL station. You may take if very safe.
(Do not have construction site for outside simliar DBG's)
SMRT is leasing the shop spaces at Botanic Gardens, Holland Village and one-north. The estimated available date is June 2011.
WIll we be seeing different operational dates for phase 4 and 5? Or there isn't any retail shops available in any of the phase 5 stations?
It seems TOP by end 2010 for phase 4 stations is not possible, especially for Holland V and BV stations.
The opening date for 4&5 should be August.
Originally posted by langer68:The opening date for 4&5 should be August.
Construction done by June. For passengers service on August? Hope to see when is the Open House of CCL4 and 5.
