Hi there,
We are doing a story about trainspotters, following the news that the Tanjong Pagar railway station will be moved to the Woodlands train checkpoint by next year. We would like to find out what this means for the local trainspotting community i.e. will you all simply be following the new train tracks wherever they lead? will there be increased activities at Tanjong Pagar before it closes? are there any special plans to commemorate its closure?
We would love to speak to a few of you to get your take on this, and would also appreciate any anecdotes/photos you could share. If you are interested in contributing, please contact me at [email protected] or 6319 5365.
Some of us are featured on "MyPaper" before. You can ask the KTM train fans for a interview.
DELECTED.
I will say disagree

Hi Nicy,
You may wish to post in the International Railways Forum where we have knowledge in KTM and a bit of the history dating from the Singapore-Kranji Railway. I'll be emailing you shortly.
Thanks,
NickLim

Not allowed without Cert 038.

WE ARE THE METRE GAUGE FANS THEN.
Sorry dude, but railway fans don't act like this. If you are true fan of the railway, you wouldn't be saying stuffs like this.

I'm sorry but as a KTM Train fan myself, I think this is not the way we should categorise ourself. In this case, should I call myself, Metre Gauge Fan? We as a forum share our same hobby and interest and I think, this is not the way we should call ourselves.. Even I myself too have interest in trains here in Singapore.
Just my 2 cents thought..

Hey! It's their policy.......
We will certainly follow the tracks to wherever it may lead to, just like how we track MRT trains.

You sure want to walk on the tracks? Without Cert 038, don't even think about walking on it.

How to go to Woodlands? It's a restricted area you know. Before you enter the area, the familiar red sign with the soldier shooting the civilian will pop up.

LOL. So it's a restricted area bounded by barbed wire?

Don't need say it's a restricted area, being on the railway line itself is already restricted.

In Woodlands, yes. On top of that, there's also electric fence.

But the problem is people can still go there as if nobody business (Except Woodlands and places that are station nearby). Dont FLAME me, if this is nonsense, then how come there had been cases of fatal accident (Not suicide). (And even being on railway is restricted, but it is not as obvious as a military restricted area)

Because we tell them don't, but they do. So they 自找 one lor.

If that's the case, then maybe a distance away from Woodlands KTM station.

If you walk within Singapore territory, it's fine. Once you step on Malaysian territory, it is actually illegal. (Although I have to add that unless there are officers around, you won't get chased off.)
