(The area above may affects)
Lol. i always thought LTA Maths Fail is it??? dunno how Count After 1 is 3!!! Epic.
PS: after 1 is 2!
I thought they are going to build along Kampong Bahru Rd THough
I am waiting for a East to North line, like the Jurong East to to Woodlands line in the West.
Did they do a survey and found out that not much people go to Yishun/Woodlands from Bedok/Tampines?

Last Time, before Marina Bay was build, there was no terminus for NSL so what they did was do crossover from EWL to NSL now nope. Its gonna cause loads of problems

Ok, u r indeed a retard. The reason why they can built a NEL with Harbourfront which is underground of MALAYAN tracks (Technically now as of 2010 June 5 is still a Malayan land) since it pass through it, is because they just use a TBM (A machine used to dig underground soil) and bore underground without affecting their track. I believe, the authorities / LTA got ask their permission for it and possibly some compenstation.
Well, this is why initally the NEL planned terminus is OUTRAM PARK and not Harbourfront. I guess they want to avoid this issue which is not popular decision. So it was extended to Harbourfront. (I believe they just want to build NE1 and NE2 together, so NE3 is the planned terminus but luckily they abandoned such idea)
I don't tell WHY NEL open Kampong Bahru next 20 years...
Just the Tanjung Pagar Railway Station Gone then...........
And tell don't me the NE2 will construct (same with Buangkok, a Shell Station)
Ok. Let me discuss: I think LTA will announce less than 20 years.
I hope the Kampong Bahru Rd extension to Keppel AYE, to West Coast Highway.
Simliar with Telok Blangah, Labrador Park and Pasir Panjang (Side Station between the road)

The NEL line not too sure. Look previous page or Streetdirectory.com
But the Kampong Bahru Road (Extension) is perfectly link to West Coast Highway.
You reckon the indication of the lines on streetdirectory is so accurate meh? When HLS were doing the cut and cover tunnel outer run track for the circle line extension at MRB station, they found out it clashed with the NSL, what a joke. Now that portion is still half farked.

why would the Kg Bahru Rd ext be necessary?

If you got a chance to visit the circle line extension MRB station, check out the overrun side of the underplatform end.

Lol.. Go Marina Bay then go where see?
They screw up Promenade already the 2 tracks on the other side -BEEP-
DTL is seperate, this one ? -BEEP-
Paya Lebar also screw up. Build 3rd track liao then suddenly soil conditions too weak, sink. Cannot extend to ERL. -BEEP-
Nicoll Highway also. Soil too weak -BEEP-
If you board the train from Harbourfront to Outram Park (or vice versa) You would notice 1 part where there is a uber long straight tracks. That woud be our NE2
Right now we cant say anything if there will be NE2 in the future or not??? Dun mind if we can somehow close this topic for discussion and forward to the question thread??

No. We can be sure there will be a NE2, much like the DT4 case. However I agree that the discussion seemed a bit too early.
Look at this video FIRST
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUZ4YYZl4OI
It require 10 seconds for a train going at 80km/h to completely pass through.
But now lets look at this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-SeKcxo4iU
See how straight is the track from 1:16 to 1:31
If the train goes at 80km/h, it would pass aprox 2 tunnel lights every second.
If the train goes at 75km/h it would pass aprox 1.75 tunnel lights/second
From Potong Pasir to Serangoon, it travels at 80km/h
From Outram Park to Harbourfront, it travels at aprox 75km/h
Then the distance between NE3 and NE2 would be almost as short as the distance between Chinatown and Clarke Quay
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwx-nJzXM4A
It takes 37 seconds from accelerating to the 1st station door of Clarke Quay
What about NE2?
0:40 ~ 1:19
It takes aprox 39 seconds from accelerating to the 1st station door of "NE2"
Almost the same as NE2. That path is justified to have provisions of having a VERY VERY straight tracks which is not going upwards of any.
Why build such a long straight track from 1:17~1:31? 14 seconds of straight track. Even passing by Woodleigh only requires 10 seconds.
