I was one of the affected ones after my friday prayers..
wanted to take the train back to simei when I noticed the disruption sign..confirmed disruption reason was due to someone had fallen onto the track at bedok mrt, ?suicide..

Event Happenings :
1348 - 053/054 approaching Bedok MRT EB Platform
1349 - Man jumps on tracks and TO activate EB Breaks
(Walking towards Central Stop A)
1350 - Train come to a halt and everyone in the train was like "WTH HAPPENED?"
1350 - Train halts with 4 1/2 carriages in the station, the last carriage was still on the tracks, (NOT IN THE STATION)
1352 - Passangers went out of the station
1353 - Announcements were made and said there was a train disruption. SCDF arrived
1354 - WB train passed by and a emergency sound from the station was heard ( Some sound i never heard before ) Loud sounds were heard, the person who jumped was under 2054 there was like a rise?.
1355 - 4 SCDF arrived
1356 - Ambulance came
1357 - Fire Engine came (WTH?)
1358 - Train service halted
1359 - The Auntie manning the convenience store said someone jumped and got killed
1400 - GAH, my bus came after 12 mins

update: service resume as per normal like nothing have happen before.
i have alot of videos and pictures of the whole distruption. stay tuned. i am currently at bedok and on the way home. 053-054 confirm got pictures of it.

Man trapped under MRT train
TRAINS running eastbound from Eunos to Tanah Merah stations on the East-West Line were disrupted on Friday afternoon after a man was trapped under a train at the Bedok MRT station.
How the incident, which occurred at 1.42pm, happened is still being investigated.
SMRT said that it immediately deployed buses to help stranded passengers at the two stations after the incident.
It is also assisting the Police with investigations into the incident.

to ans your qn on why they dispatched a fire engine was because they need to remove the body from under the train..
fyi, SRT was also dispatched for this incident..
plz don't think fire engines will only be dispatched when there's a fire..
