Relax NickLim... don't leave... I say sorry on behalf of the forums. Don't leave please... We don't want a train enthusiast leaving. Its like your best friend leaving your, not having any connection with you anymore...
We didn't treat You Yuan like a god, we didn't treat him just because he was on the newspaper...
We just admire his courage that he has the courage to go on TV and speak up for all the train enthusiasts in Singapore. He told Singapore that we, train enthusiasts, are NOT crazy nor harming the people in anyway. We are just pursing our hobbies.
Everyone reading this would share a common hobby, which is about trains. Everyone that post in this forums share about our discovery. Even take like one of us is living in Boon Lay, he would be nearer to the stations at the west side to check the HHSPDs progress... Do you want to take the train to Joo Koon and back daily? We share the information we have. We are not bias, we don't treat some better than the other. We treat each other equally. When someone said that the middle platform could be used to connect to ERL, someone came up and posted that it could not be extended due to soft soil problems. When 089/090 was back for revenue service, someone shared the modification it went through, like extra handicap lots.
Someone said that 209/210 had STARIS, the first C651 to have. All the C151s have it and 209/210 is the first C651 to have it. We test each other with the MRT trivia. Some said that the Circle Line have no sleepers but when the answers were revealed, There was sleepers and concrete was used to replace the ballasts. When one of the CX-100 doors open. Nick, I can empathize with how you feel about the direction of the tour, especially with the forms unaccounted for and now with ST coming over.
but I believe sbs&tibs is just highlighting the importance of having someone in front to take charge and organize everyone since the press is there to look at all of us here.
I am willing to bet it is not his intention to ostracize Interception_7 or you. I remembered when interception talked about being in talks with the SMRT side about the tour back during CCL Discovery and the short chat with you when collecting the form. I know who are the rightful organizers.
I am sure everyone here looks forward to all of us joining the tour as one team. it is also my wish that everyone can mingle together and not be in separate cliques like during CCLD since we would definitely have more fun together, I am sure.
nick, please don't harbour any negative thoughts anymore. I am sure everyone here didn't mean to have things turn out this way. Dragonaxe highlighted how the community worked together and I believe it will improve if we continue the momentum =)

Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of Nick and Interception_7, I was rather disappointed in the way on how things are organised here.
First of all, Interception had wanted to organise a trip for everybody here. The 3 of us collaborated and decided a depot tour would be good. Interception and Nick then went forward to ask SMRT if they could organise one for us, and finally, they agreed to but in one condition, everybody who is coming must be an FOS. They took the time, effort to distribute as many forms and collect it asap so that registration could be done and finally, a depot tour this coming 18th.
Secondly, I was rather sad that this topic became a chatbox for some who wanted the FOS badly. Not mentioning who, but just felt that this could be done in MSN or Facebook rather than spamming pages worth of non-constructive post.
Lastly, I was quite suprised when someone decided to start a new topic asking who was going to the depot tour when there is such topic that has already been existed.
So, let's all forgive & forget plus all together thank Interception and Nick for devoting their time to come forward and organise a depot trip for all of us here. Shall we start a new post on who will be coming this 18th?

If you have just registered and have not received your FOS card, you may bring your IC for registration. But remember to RSVP them first before coming down..

I've made a statement that led to a misunderstanding, I would like to explain my ideas clearly. I regret my suggestion earlier was a bit insensitive to the organisers. Sorry.
Firstly, I would like to thank the organisers for initiating this idea to SMRT. This is a rare chance, all of us here are looking forward to it.
Secondly, I think leaders of the forum could take the role as marshals to keep everyone in order, while the organisers take the lead in front. We want to keep the image of train fans as sensible young adults, don't we? I didn't mention about organisers as marshals, simply because the organisers have really done a good job to start off.
Thirdly, I think this is a lesson learnt to be clear in our communications. And yes, I was rather glad and hoped for the chance to interact with you regular train fans.
It is not that we see someone as god-like, but it is rather the first few impressions of what I saw since I wasn't a regular in this forum, so I guess it is my fault.
And hope NickL has cooled down and understand what I was my intention.
Really look forward to meet you guys in this tour.

Reading your various posts was interesting, at least now I know you guys are sensitive people knowing who is who.
But, I still believe it's time for me to leave. This is unfortunately not a very conducive forum to hold discussions in. I will go after the tour.

I will be barely 14 during the tour. Is ez-Link card/Student Pass acceptable in this case? And do I just reply the email they sent me saying "I would like to attend"?

Yes. Just reply them back that you will be attending. I think it shouldn't be a problem bringing your ez-link card for registration.
