I think, it is NOT. So another error by this future map.
the direction of the map is correct but somehow the number of stations have changed
Take for example DTL stage 2:
note if you compare this one to the present map at LTA webbie, from bukit panjang to botanic gardens theres 8 stations in total, however this map show only 7 in that distance, another part is from newton to little india theres a station in this map but none in the LTA webbie
another thing is that the stations like DBG,Bras basah, esplanade were part of the former bukit timah line which now become part of CCL stage 1
other things that were accurate is the DTL stage 1and CCL 4 and 5.
for thomson line and Eastern region line, best to use this map as a rough reference, the line could change, so could the number of stations also as proven.
Overheard a cso talking just now and he said that Toa Payoh will become an interchange! He also say that in 2020, there will be a train to JB. He also say by 2030, th mrt map will be like spider web.

CSOs have no indication of future plans. He may be talking about the speculated map.

CSO only what, just a staff of a station, he is not the one to plan it, so, it could be as Willis said, based on this speculation map, but it is quite outdated and I think after 2011 Concept Plan is out, we, as the train enthus, should have come up a more professional speculation than this.

No. We are not professionals. We are just people who are interested in trains. I personally will not claim knowledge of everything in the system.

The most we can do is make a map of what we think it is, which is still a speculation map, or your own dream map. Not a professional map.
Ok lah, ok lah, professional may sound too what, but, it is just our version of white paper? Or rather, professional as in with the professional attitude to do it, with the best educated guess only.

Train connecting Singapore and Johor? Impossible..... There would be an argument on who is going to pay for rolling stock , track , station , etc. But if this is the future MRT line of Singapore..... We no place to live liao la....... Lowest HDB block would already be 40 floors.

Toa Payoh near to JB meh? If they wan create line i think they would start the line at either woodlands , marsling or kranji

Why?
1: There might be chances that, Singapore - part of JB special economic zone no need passport de. So this may not be an issue (Of Woodlands Train Checkpoint). Regarding rolling stock, track, station, I think is not an issue as well.
My suggestion is for the station wise, Malaysian authority will do Malaysia JB sector. Singapore LTA will plan the track sector for Singapore side.
Rolling stock? Either they formed a joint LTA, or having 2 rolling stock with different porpotions, based on the track length, proposed economical benefits etc.
2: All future MRT lines should be fully underground, I think it might be possible for LRT stations in future to be underground as well. So, for no place to live is not too valid, and I think the future lowest should be around 15 to 25 floors and 30 ~ 40 floors should be the median. Dont forget that our land cannot support > 240 ~ 280m in height for the buildings. So, dont expect to have many 60 (Or above) floor flats becoz it will become "Sinkapore".
btw I really hate the TSL

Make sense.... But I disagree with ur point on the passport-free. If no need passport then Singapore n Malaysia would be out of control in terms of population count. And rmb this , the government of Singapore is expecting 6million citizens in Singapore. If no passport , ppl can go Malaysia to begin a new life there isn't it? So this is the only point I disagree...... The rest makes sense to me. :)

Most countries in the European Union allow their citizens to cross over to the other's country without a passport.

but ASEAN is unlikely to reach this soon. many bilateral issues will come into play. just for Singapore and Malaysia, look at how the discussions about high speed rail linking two countries went in the end.

Other countries manage differently. u can't just compare with them. u have to seek the Singapore government if they would set up this scheme.

They might do a remerger with Malaysia, as what reading on newspapers. Most notably using KTM land, extending MRT to Johor Bahru. all kind of things will be done by 2011.

I know the naming sucks. That is why earlier I asked if any of the train fans would like to do a speculation map, better than this. However, nobody will ever get the correct name bcoz in the end, LTA will ask public for naming exercise.

Slight OT, but regarding of remerger with Malaysia would = Singapore is no longer a country and it will become part of JB. Well, I doubt the possibility, given the 2 countries' political viewpoint is too much of difference. (Compare the people in Singapore and Malaysia, their mindset has a big difference, regardless of their race)
Well, while I believe the re-location of KTM, might be possible in 2011 or later, but a remerger could have probably in the dreams of various people / politicans and never able to reach the goals for at least in the entire generation or 2.

but if the DTL were 2 be completed as shown on dis link here, then there could be something of a loop in the CBD area where DTL2 and 3 intersect with DTL1. maybe a spur to connect that loop could be built, but unless there really is demand, then forget it.

It is DTL3 intersecting with DTL2 at Rochor Station, the same line interchanging with itself

DTL3 intersect with DTL2 not at Rochor Station, but along Jalan Besar, Bencoolen Street.
Rochor DTL2 station is not an interchange station with DTL3. There is no provision within the station bos itself to accomodate future expansion into an interchange station.

You hate the TSL, but LTA would not scrap their ideas to plan and build it.

M'sia is cutting S'pore's water supply from 2011..... U think there is a chance for remerger? If there is , why break the merger ties in 1965? Well , it might be possible too.... But i say it's a NO.
