Recently on regular train ride on EWL, if you have noticed a changed in announcements, it said something, Paya Lebar Interchange.. to cope with upcoming CCL interchange
IMO it sounds too awkward and ugly..
What is your opinion???
No more 'PAye Lebar Int' announcent currently when I took MRT train from CGA to Chinese Garden home at 5th April 2010.
Agree with you, I prefer the previous version of announcement "Paya Leyar'
It sounds like "Paya Lebar... INTERCHANGE!"
The "Paya Lebar" sounds much more lower (pitch) , the "Interchange" is normal pitch.
It sounds like
Pa (break 1/2 second) ya Lebar Interchange ( Lower pitch )
The announcer seems to be catching her/his breath when announcing LOL
i prefer the old one Paya Lebar, it sound much more smooth +_+ Rather than paya lebar... Interchange
The new one really sounds want to puke
The new one is less popular among the train fans.
i think this one beta version of Paya Lebar... Interchange..
i like CCL Paya Lebar Interchange announce. haha
Any instruction for pax transferring to CCL to go along with it?
And don't tell me CHY also announce Buona Vista................ INTERCHANGE.
I'm pretty sure the weird pause and pitch change was because the "interchange" portion was cut from the City Hall announcement and edited in.

No It's Dhoby Ghaut announcement.
One or the other. Definitely was one where the first syllable was of a higher pitch than the other two.
Got new announcement alr la. 025/026 got CCL styled "Paya Lebar Interchange"
Hence my usage of past tense.

to me, it sounds like ( the previous one ) Paya Lebar.....INTERCHANGE.
She way she pronounce Paya is wierd. And for the interchange, its like she forget to say the word interchange for a split second. haha :D

Many of the stations she pronounce strangely anyway. and, the previous chime was clearly more pleasant sounding. That is why now I prefer the NEL announcements(the circle line announcements at Dhoby and Serangoon also sound good)

CHY best announcement is Serangoon Interchange! She pronounced the Serangoon so perfect!
067/068 still using , "Next station , Paya Lebar". After 2+weeks of operation , still not changed.
067/068 also has its announcement for Bishan Interchange... Only 2 words, but not sentence

Lol 067/068 Seems to Have Outdated Announcement
We should use the Singapore Lingo...
"You know, you know"... No need say so much.. Interchange just say You know You know..

035/036 also had this anouncement. when I heard it, I thought the they change it again.
