So what are the countries with "World Class" standard? For me , I think Japan is one of the best.
Well, they call it World Class. However, Singaporeans are still unsatisfied. But compared to many other countries, it is much better. This is because transit operators and the govt have continuously maintained and kept lookout on the demand, continously improving, therefore still not as squeezy and higher frequencies or rather going with demand. The system continuously maintained to bring more safety, comfort and speed, some even service through the training of staff. Newer technologies employed for new lines.
say japan for example..
but I could be wrong as I nvr travelled overseas before..
the bitches do not know how to stand on the train and need to be given seats for them...
Ok-ok la..
There's always room for improvement, I don't think SMRT should stop at wherever they are now.
compared to developing countries, our system is very good.
compared to developed countries, still a lot to improve.
the 2 operators also need to remove some unnecessary things such as the naggy announcements. the fares are quite reasonable. but it will be better to sell season passes.. then people will save more... the operators should not keep thinking of profits.
also, the EWL, NSL.. the stations looks too old dark dusty and tired
there's still a long way to go in terms of crowd control, system (signal), capacity and so on
even e fare collection system might need overhaul

the thing with our 2 operators is.. they hardly improve themselves.. they just take what there is, accept it and thats it, u dont see any improvements, or any de-provements.. our MRTs and stations feels so 1990s.....
anyway, i noticed some thing.. a couple of years back, a few GTMs from each station was removed.. wierd..
NEL and CCL uber modern.
LOL! No Blue line.. for currently: Red, Green, Purple and Orange..
Uber modern? World class?
Singapore
Japan
Are we modern? Is it world class? Pictures not owned by me btw.
Not world class but still considered quite good. They need to improve on their frequency alot and stop screwing people with crossover train during peak hours because I feel that it make things worse, if you can't meet the 2 minutes frequency with your current amount of train than admit it. The off-peak frequency also very jialat, fix that too and please be truthful don't hide trains that take longer than 6 minutes to arrive. The whole system also need serious overhaul especially the EWL & NSL.
For trains, since they profit so much, install TV and don't off it, instead put ads. Really seriously take good maintenance of the train information system. The seats please change to those OC's type of seats, no more plastic, I know cloth attract dust.
And last but not least, do something about the stations, they don't look like they have any historical value in them so no point in keeping them. Maybe applying the art concept like the NEL & CCL to EWL & NSL could help. Also remove unecessary announcement, it makes the journey much more peaceful.

I still think Japan is much much better than Singapore.
Even the route maps for Japan's quite messy
It all depends on a person's opinion.
it is good.
- wishes for better frequency on weekends. weekend, 10am onwards when everyone is heading to town. 6mins frequency is a no-no. lol.

we can't be good in making trains but we can always be the forerunner in service standard and fare collection system so on.
We survived because we were always e first to invent new service iniaitives, meaning to say ahead of others.
personally,i feel that the train system in s'pore i already quite good already, even during the peak hours, where the trains are packed untill to the doors. at least there are some staffs advising passengers to wait for the next train, and on NEL, sbs staffs direct passengers to less crowded. to me, what i feel that most people say that our train system not as gd is bcos of the passengers. refuse to giv up seats to those who need it more than themselves, "campin" at the door whr thr r plenty of space in the middle of the cars, and also not letting passengers to alight 1st.some improvements which i hope to c is the frequency of the trains during peak hour( sometimes, once u miss a train during peak hour, the next train will come in 6mins!).just my 1 cent view.
Clean and neat.
But air con not strong enought at times.
Jam at peak hours...that is a minus point.
Rating: 7.5/10
