taking pics in mrt station?

  Go to the control, tell them you're a student, show them some identification, school card or something, tell them why/what you need to take pictures for. Write a simple memo, and sign off if necessary for their retention.

  You want to cover your backside, they want to cover theirs. They cover theirs with paperwork, you do the same. Sounds stupid and unnecessary, but you want things done, thats how you do it.

  Just hope that the CCTV camera isn't pointing towards you and no CSOs around when taking pics of trns in stations.

  There are people taking pictures of ugly Singaporeans on public transport and post them on STOMP. Anyone stop them? Such cyber images can be immortalized and certainly hope you won't get snapped by them.
