According to my friend, and the recording he sent me, the next station for NEL seems to have a new addition.
eg.
<Chime> Next Station, Farrer Park. 花拉公å›.

then in malay & tamil how? Dun leave out this two ley SBST..

IMO i think it is because they assume that majority of the Malays and Indians can understand english but many chinese cannot understand english, thus adding in the chinese announcements.
Personally I don't care abt NEL announcements or whatsoever, thus this thread doesn't appeal to me.

Lol, if it continues like this, any announcements on NEL would be very long...... Imagine Serangoon Interchange.........

eg.<Chime> Next Station, Farrer Park. 花拉公å›.
But other trains seemed to have only <Chime> Farrer Park Station, 花拉公å›, Please Mind the Gap, 请å°心空隙, <Malay of Please mind the gap>, <Tamil of Please mind the gap> which heard when it reaches the station but not the Next station part.
Also, can this be confirmed on other stations such as
<Chime> Next Station, Chinatown. 牛车水. etc

Chinatown = ì¤‘êµ ë„ì‹œ(Chung-guk Dong Si)
Potong Pasir = 통 파시(Po-tong Pa Si)

So update it as (Current known NEL announcement style):
<Chime> Farrer Park Station, 花拉公å›, Please Mind the Gap, 请å°心空隙, Berhati-hati di ruang platform, <Tamil of Please mind the gap>

Why the Chinatown sounded like ä¸å›½ä¸œè¥¿ in Korean ? (China stuff)
How about: 암소차물 (Cow Car Water, so as to reflect the actual name 牛车水 or Kreta Ayer. PS: There are people against LTA from using Chinatown during NEL's construction. There are historic concern about it and there is a HUGE difference between Singapore's "Chinatown" with US's chinatown, given that here we are Chinese majority, and US is not.)
PS: Notice that we have only a consitutency / Community Centre named as Kreta Ayer in English / Malay but not Chinatown.
(Now Kreta Ayer constiutency for the nearby resident has merged into Kim Seng constituency as well, since 2001)
023/024 in SKD today, pity that we can't hear the new announcements.

암소차물(Aaam So Ja-dong-Cha Muul) sounds weird leh.
You are Korean as well?

And oops it is not pronounced as Chung guk Dong si but Chung guk Do Si...
Ooooops

Wow, no, I am not Korean or K Drama fan.
PS: I managed to figure out the Chung guk as same sound as Zhong Guo (ä¸å›½) with some guess.
And the suggestion, 암소차물, erm, I do not know the pronounciation, that is why it appeared here. It is a literal translation with the help of Google Translation.
PS: The Chinatown suggestion by Fryderyk HPH sounded like "ä¸å›½éƒ½å¸‚" (Chinacity, as the Korean pronunciation is Chung guk Do Si), the meaning of Chinatown is literally translated and a side note is that whenever each translation, there seemed not possible to 100% synchronize a phrase or a name.
I took 023/024 on 11 Dec, and recorded some next station announcements. Feel free to listen to them. As for the next station announcements of Interchange stations, it goes like this: *Chime* <Next Station, Serangoon Interchange, Passengers may alight, and change to the CCL> <实龙岗>, just like the approaching station announcement.

Oh yah, if I'm not wrong, 021/022 also has the new announcements.
