Where do i buy tickets and board the train?
Issit at tanjong pagar?
http://www.ktmb.com.my/images/default/TrainInformation.pdf
the website is very confusing, i just need to get from SG-KL but dont understand
can i suggest an alternative - flying budget carriers eg fireflyz (subang airport is closest to town) or taking the coach eg aeroline, first coach
taking a train consumes too much time unless that's your original intention ie experience a train ride
yeh u can but at t.pagar. Why not take a coach? It's a shorter journey of 5 hours as compared to the train's ..i tink 8 hours.
Train is 8 hours only if you take the night train. Anyway, you may proceed down to Tanjung Pagar or book your e-ticket at https://intranet.ktmb.com.my/e-ticket/
If you're booking a return ticket, please only book 1 way. For example, a second class seat will cost you $34 from Singapore - KL Sentral but RM34 from KL Sentral to Singapore. E-ticket will be no problem, but please remember to do 2 transactions if you're booking 2 ways. If you're booking for 2 or more people, the ticket will reflect the number of pax, so don't be shocked if your printout is only 1 page.
Train is better because at Woodlands, the checkpoint only serves your train alone. No traffic jams at the causeway or the highway (Woodlands to JB takes about 2-3 minutes easily). You get hot food on board. It's much safer than bus or car, a train rarely derails at a curve but just turn a bus' steering wheel suddenly at 110km/h, the whole thing tumbles away. Train gets you direct to KL Sentral too, unlike some bus companies which uses Puduraya Bus Terminal.
Hi there,
You have three choices to reach KL via train from Tanjung Pagar.
Ekspres Rakyat -> Departs here at 0740hrs, reaches at 1430hrs
Ekspres Sinaran Petang -> Departs here at 1400hrs, reaches at 2130hrs
Or alternatively, the night sleeper train,
Ekspres Senandung Malam -> Departs here at 2200hrs, reaching there at 0630hrs.
I thought Tanjong Pagar Railway Station no more. The train not opreate.

Who says so?
It's still operating daily services to the northern sector and the east-coast sector of Malaysia. We have the, Ekspres Rakyat, Ekspres Sinaran Petang, Ekspres Senandung Malam (two trains each, one northbound, one southbound) towards the Northern Sector, and also the Lambaian Timur, and also the Ekspres Timuran towards the East-Coast sector of Malaysia (two trains each, one northbound, one southbound)
Which makes a total of 10 trains per day. Also, the occasional freight train that comes in to Singapore from Pasir Gudang, Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Padang Rengas etc..
If you got any questions about KTM services or trains, you may want to contact me or my friend, NickL_C151 as we are more to the KTM side, rather than the SMRT/NEL side..

Dear Mr Ang,
Singapore station is labelled as SINGAPORE. SG BULOH is between Rawang and KL and TANAH MERAH is along the East Coast Line, not related to EW4 Tanah Merah or Sungei Buloh in Singapore.

Just a question.
Are the trains good? How are the 1st class seats? Are there any suites or anything like Premium Class on the fastest train to KL?
I suggest you just walk in to JB and buy the train ticket there.
The price is the same as Singapore except in malaysia ringgit. Plus passing customs is much faster.
I think there is a special luxury train BUT if you like trains, and train journeys, I recommend the one that goes to ... err.. *thinks* kuantan side... the view there is much much nicer with limestone cliffs and all!

Oh.
But I think since I would most likely be using my Republic of Korea Passport instead of my Singaporean one, I suppose having a stamp at the immigrations is faster for train compared to land? Somemore they most likely would have to verify etc.
And also I have only gone to Johor Bahru once in my life, for only 3 hours, so I have no clue where to go and how to get around to even buy the ticket.
I don't mind paying a bit more for luxury, but I wonder how KTM 1st is? Is it comparable to European 1st class on the German DB Deutsche Bahn, Austrian OBB Railjet, Swiss SBB CFF FFS or is it dilapidated like the French SNCF?
Sorry for asking too much questions.

If you are travelling above Segamat (I think), you can purchase your tickets in advance. If you are travelling below Segamat, (again, I think), you may only purchase a day prior to your departure.

Hahaha, 1st class seats is ok la.. We can't compare it with those high speed trains, like the ICE or whatever.. :P
There is a Selun Khas, but it's damn expensive to rent it. Price wise? Don't even bother asking me.. Hehehe..
The trains, are well, should I say, good. It's hard to say. Lol...
I try to take a pic of the AFC (Air-Conditioned First Class) and the ASC (Air-Conditioned Second Class) as I'm departing for KL tomorrow morning, and will be back with the overnight train, reaching on a Thursday..

There is a private room (12 of them) on the night train. It has 2 bunks, the bottom bunk can be converted into 2 seats, TV, closet, shower, en-suite bathroom, 2 breakfasts. Not sure if there's on call butler or similar but they do have a button on the side to speak to a staff member.

Yes yes!!! Suddenly brain dead.
But I really love that train ride.
Waking up in the morning before reaching Dabong, looking out at all the limestone cliffs and all...
Anyway all the tickets can buy online what. Normally I just buy online.

Does the E&O Express accept bookings for SIN to KUL only?

Yup, Bukit Timah station does not allow boarding/alighting as it does not have any immigration facilities.

Yes, it's about USD700 1 way. But must call the office or call-centre, can't book online for this.
