Wished Chan Hui Yuh can disappear from MRT stations. Especially the the Changi Airport one. The Bras Basah Station announcement was also made by her i suppose? The Bras Basah one is totally -.- x 100000000.
Bras Bash pronounce as "bra bra ha"
Ask Chan Hui Yuh to get lost and ask Juanita Melson to come back.

nononono, it sounds more like "Bras Barsah ", and the station name is Bras Basah, not Bras Bash

And i do not think Chan Hui Yuh should get lost

I'm just kidding.
Dakota = der-koh-ta..
Bras Basah = ba-ba-sha
Paya Lebar = pa-yar ley-bahh
I personally prefer Juanita Melson. Her voice & tone sounds more natural lor... Chan Hui Yuh's accent is kinda fake, like American + Singlish liddat. And some of Chan Hui Yuh's announcements sound weird like "Going to Johor Baruuuuuuu? Please alight at Woodlands station..."
Actually, talking abt announcements, the voice that I like the best is the NEL platform announcer for English. Sounds very professional. "Please do not eat or drink on the railway premises. Thank you for your cooperation."

The Bras Basah don't sound like ba-ba-sha...
Bras Basah = Bras Ba-sahhhhhhh
Bras Basah = Bars Basar
Her announcer like very [Bars: High Sound] [Basar: Low Sound]
Listen Bars Basar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8AmR9ttGT4&feature=related
The Bras Basah announcer like playing: ang mo woman.
wenjie639: Why you starting the annonucement "Bras Basah" you pause the train sound?

You are right , I asked him and he told me.
Wow just realise that Taiwan high speed rail make announcement in Chinese, Taiwanese, Hakka and English. Isn't it fabulous?
Fotunately our 'Holland Village' station is not called 'Holland Road', else if they happen to make announcement in Hokkien, isn't it rude to say 'Ho lang Rud' ?
Juanita Melson
Her voice sounded warm and pleasant to the ear. Good to be radio DJ but i guess doing train announcements is good enough.
btw that ms Chen got professional qualifications to do voicing.. read it somewhere.
i am new here and would just like to post a question that is slightly off topic......
how would the announcement for Dhoby Ghaut sound like after the circle line opens?
Will it sound something like that: "Next Station, Dhoby Ghaut Interchange. Passegers may alight and transfer to the Circle Line or the North East line."
In the North East Line may be announce like this: 'Next Station, Dhoby Ghaut Interchange. Passengers may alight and change to North South Line and Circle Line
North South Line: 'Next Station, Dhoby Ghaut Interchange, passengers who are continuing their journey on the North East Line and/or (not confirmed yet) Circle Line, please alight at the next station.
But in Circle Line, how to announce so many interchange and terminating station?
I think 'Next Station Dhoby Ghaut Interchange, passengers who are continuing their journey on the North South Line and North East Line please alight at the next station.
Approching: Dhoby Ghaut Interchange, this train service terminates at this station, passengers who are continuing their journey towards Marina Bay or Jurong East Interchange please proceed to the North South Line. Passengers who are continuing their journey towards HarbourFront Interchange or Punggol, please proceed to the North East Line. Dhoby Ghaut Interchange, please mind the platform gap.'
Its something like that.. phew!

you mean Ms Chan
bras basah is like mumbling
i totally agree with most that the previous voice and accent is better. maybe, the only good point of the current voice sounds more cheerful. but still, i really can't stand it when i hear 'changi aiRpoRRRt'.
why did smrt spend money to change its announcement voice? might as well use the money to give more fare rebates to passengers...
in fact, the voice of changi airport skytrain sounds good too. it sounds cheerful and welcoming, yet natural and non-rhotic.
who's the voice behind changi airport skytrain announcement system?
Hope the new announcement say "Esplanede not EsplaNATE
