since i have browsed through and saw no topics about c830,i created this one.
the CCL is up and running.what do you think about the trains?
(CC16 Marymount.....CC16 Marymount..........please mind the platform gap.)
Sounds abit like London Underground's 1995 stock.

Haha...I always thought it sounds like the 1996 stock.
The speed of the testing of the CM shown on youtube was quite fast...doesnt really look like 50km/h...

1996 sounds more C751A. :P

Its 80km/h. Max speed for all trains in SG.
are ya sure? i thought it was 90.... no wonder the huge truck full of sand and construction stuff was faster than us in the c651 half-way through between dover and bouna vista.

NSL, EWL, CCL - 90km/h (Limitation of using 3rd rail as power source)
NEL - 90km/h (Can travel faster in the future with speed up to 160km/h)

I thought NEL is 100 KPH. Probably design speed 100KPH then service speed 90KPH.

1996 stock and C751A are made from the same manufacturer , Alstom. C751A sounds similar to 1996 stock.

1995 Stocks are also made by Alstom. so how do you explain this?

Are you sure that the NEL trains can travel up to 160km/h in the future?

1995 stock = Siemens Series 200 (C651)? Not Alstom. Pardon me but I hate to use contract codes. Its really hard to go that way...
So I guess C830 would be Series 8000 to my understanding...
Shall list the rest of the proper understanding here... Follow or not own choice (cause I know some really prefer contract numbers but I feel they don't give the trains any identity)
C151 (Tokyu Car Corp/Kawasaki/Kinki Sharyo): Series 0/100. Either way, but I prefer Series 0. Japanese style.
C651 (Siemens): Series 200.
C751A (Alstom): Series 70000.
C751B (Kawasaki): Series 300.
C830 (Alstom): Series 8000.

Because it uses overhead wire as power source, the only factor that's limiting the speed of the train on a certain section of the track would be the track itself, like curves, electricity requirement and tunnel pressure etc. Though I personally think that 110km/h is the maximum when it's actually implemented.
hm,then what about the DTL?overhead or 3rd rail?

Most likely should be 3rd rail.

It's because JR controls many lines and there are many rolling stocks. That's why they use Series _____.
Originally posted by E5:Not really, private operators also uses this naming scheme. Anyway, personally I feel that series xxx is better than using contract name because it’s the train real identity. Unless the trains are identified as C151-1001 instead of 1001.
Like TokyoMetro. They use series 01, series 02, series 03.........
The C830 sound like very bored to me...

Also think it's a little boring and it's VERY LOUD!
Anyone notice that Marymount annoucement is played twice. When the PSD opened the doors , the annoucement is played. After 45 seconds , the annoucement is played again.
i did.probably did so due to train changing direction and control car,it would have started again.

The Circle Line is like this.
Example: (Approching: Lorong Chuan, wait awhile when train stop and doors open "Lorong Chuan, please mind the platform gap")
