if there is, the models shoudl be available there.
iirc used to have 1 in Yishun Interchange which sells buses models and SMRT related stuff.. but closed down for a long time already...
We can suggest to SMRT to have those kind of souveniers...

How do you start painting?

Just paint over the existing livery lor.
But if you really want my MTR steps:
If you're worried about paint spills, remove the body shell from the bogies before starting to paint.

But if you really want my MTR steps:
- Cover existing livery with silver.
- Paint up blue strip
- Paint up red doors
- Add caution yellow lines along doors.
- Add the 2 black lines along the driver's cab door.
- Draw in fake windows on the front. (The curve at the bottom.) I used freehand but if you dont trust yourself, maybe get something big, flat and round.
- Go to http://rail.kychung.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/mtr_erl_m_noshield_large.png and crop out MTR logo, TRN and desto.
- Print 2 of each.
- Stick them on with double sided tape.

Really afraid of paint spills. Thanks for the steps. How many colours do you buy? Sorry , really asked a lot of questions.

No problem.
I bought black, silver, red, blue and yellow. In case you're buying, the package is all in Japanese, but the brand is Sailor and it's described as "Poster Colour Marker".

I think is not really worth it.First , I need to buy the train model at $___ . Second, I have to buy Red , Black , Grey and white. Brought at Diaso , cost $8. Third , I have to spend time to paint the train. How long do you paint the train and how much does a train model cost? Thanks a lot for the infomation. And the train model should at least cost $100 , right?

Single train models cost about $29.90 to $39.90, depending on what gimmicks it has. For my second MTR EMU, it has motor sounds, so it's $39.90. Luckily it was a gift. If you're getting it in Singapore, wait for discounts. I know OG now got 20%.
Er... Would be better if you go to KL. Bangkok had far cheaper trains 2 years ago (like $20 for a full set with tracks and what-not) but I think the factory shifted to China, so yeah.
I do about 1 side of the train for each step each night, but the paint dries up in about half an hour or less, so it is possible to do it within half a day, just that I can't be bothered to do marathon painting.

MTR is $39.90 train + $10 markers I guess. If you're doing up more trains you can of course use the same markers too. Eh add me on MSN or Facebook or something lah, this thread is like our convo nia, lol.
