06/08/09: SMRT (NSL + EWL) train massive disruption/ delay

This morning at abt 9am+ like tat. I noticed train towards JKN didn't arrive for abt 4 mins, platform packed like siao...
1st train couldn't take everyone in and there was PA telling passengers of slight disruption and wait for next train if it's too packed

Held since 8am. I had to wait 2 more trains in order to get in & alight at JEI to transfer NSL to my school.
About 10mins.
You know the reasons behind disruptions?
The crowds at JEI Platform 1 can stand beside the middle platform.

i was at 053/054 at Lakeside Station, from 7.45am 8.25am i was like what the ....
and i was late for school for 1hr 30 mins! Gosh!
Annoucement goes like this:-
in the train, "This train will be delayed for 30 mins due to train fault, sorry for inconvinence cause"at the station "the train at the platform will be delayed for 30 mins due to section of the eastbound track fault, sorry for inconvinence cause" and the station control say "attention to all passengers (x2) The train at Eastbound platform will be delayed for 30 mins, (x2) passengers who want to take alternative transport, please exit this station (x2) sorry for inconvinence cause (x2)
as i dunnoe what happened just now, my friend also kena, he says that the train that he was taking (NSL) towards Pasir Ris via jurong east, the train terminates at Jurong east and turnaround continue towards Marina Bay. he also kene lambat to school for 1.5 hrs.
At jurong East, i was shocked! wah so many people until 1 auntie say "OH MY GOD" and when doors open auntie shouts "excuse me (x5)" den the pessenger dashed in push the paasengers in the train and i was too cramp.
until queenstown back to normal..
when reached at paya lebar, westbound also kena. many people in the train and PACK LIKE SARDINE, and i go and look at ratis at westbound, next train 5 mins!and its peak hours! Dun tell me Westbound also kena..

can but, lazy to go down to bus stop and up to bridge and down and wait for bus and long journey with pack until Ngee Ann poly and school students , so i wait in the train with cool aircon =) like old folk say,it will be save if late. -

Transportation system cannot take the strain of too much passengers?

no leh, all e problems has been w/ SMRTyou see SBS bus svs keep on adding trips if need be

Imagine next time, population is 6 million - a 50% increase from now.
Look at the picture in Stomp.
And then add 50% more people in the picture.
I reckon there will be even more frequent breakdowns in the system in the future.

Even if sbs no problem now, the spillover from the frequent MRT stoppages will affect the bus side soon.
MRT spoil, everybody is forced to take the bus and taxis.
Anyway, for the bus side, people already kpkb so many times and they finally improved the system a little bit.

Those scholars alrdy told me, SBS bus take road space so MUST pay and to control traffic... like tis might as well everyone stay at homelast time e coupon era, SBS bus dun pay leh

Train delay started before 7.30am. Reached City Hall at 7.34am and heard the announcement.

my colleague stucked in the train since 725am... and he late for 1 hour and 40 minute.
