SMRT's train frequency to be adjusted on red flu alert

  SMRT says train frequency will be reduced by 30 percent once Singapore's pandemic alert level hits red.

  
  This is because its service staff are divided into two teams, to prevent the potential spread of the H1N1 virus.

  
  At the moment, SMRT has increased its cleanliness in trains and buses by more than three times ever since the alert was raised to orange.

  
  Public areas are cleaned once every two hours.

  
  Temperatures of SMRT officers are also checked twice daily.

  
  There's also a quarantine room for passengers who display flu symptoms.

  
  Ventilation within the trains has also been increased.

  
  While windows and doors of buses parked at interchanges will remain open.

  
  Temperature of bus captains are also being measured at bus interchanges.

  Sometimes, the train is so packed that I don't even recall remembering what the colour of the seats are.

  I don't know what's with SMRT these days, in the past they have a good colour coding scheme, red for south bound and yellow for north bound, they remove the yellow and made all red.

   

  Then now they came up with a policy of squeezing more commuters when there is a pandemic.

  I really cannot understand elite's logic.

   

  1. More foreign talents means more jobs for Singaporeans.

  2. Millions paid to Ministers to prevent corruption

  3. GST is to help the poor.

  4. If there is a flu pandemic, reduce the train frequencies.

   

  What do I know? I am not paid millions a years.
