Just now I was on 337/338 and the VPIS showed it was testing. What could it mean? Will post some pics tmr. Lazy to plug in the USB again.

USB = USB cable.
Ok since you want the photos I'll post it later instead of tmr.
Here they are:
My camera malfunctioned and the date went woo-woo. -_-
Seen it at least twice last year. Don't know if its the same train. The testing keeps going on and on and on. Interestingly it was only thru the testing that I knew VPIS could display so many colours and languages (thought it was a basic red LED one language display).
Don't think much will come out of this. Since I believe there was a forum letter reply last yr by SMRT I think that the LEDs are not in use because the parts are no longer available (an odd reply).
Bad points: They didn't maximise the use of the LED when it was still working fine, and its sad that they could not even upgrade it. Then again, its been at least 9 years since the LEDs came. But, how techy can an LED get. Certainly some parts can be substituted. After all, you can still get 3.5 floppy disks in pc shops.

I think C751As (the NEL trains) used the same LED coz I saw it display the dates and times just like the C751Bs before.

I find that the C751A's feel very outdated compared to te C751B's that feel more classy and futuristic.
always down so pissed off
It has never worked since the new announcements were introduced, which probably resulted in overwriting of station sequences.
those 33XX trains are e worst of all (to me) le..
