Kelly Poon to star in "subway drama"
SINGAPORE : Singapore's Project Superstar alumna Kelly Poon is set to star in "subway drama", "A Starry Night", which will be broadcast on trains and train stations in Singapore and China.
Jointly produced by Singapore's Media Development Authority (MDA), media company Ufinity and China's Prime Time Entertainment, this Mandarin 50-parter will be served in bite-size portions, each two-and-a-half minutes long.
Filmed in Singapore and Shanghai, "A Starry Night" centres on the love story between a Singapore singer (Kelly Poon) and an aspiring singer from Shanghai (Taiwanese actor Robert Fan) who comes here to pursue his studies and music aspirations.
"This is my first drama," said Poon. “This is a big role, and I’m doing two characters, so it’s a bit stressful... I hope that the public will like the show."
Slated for debut in the second half of this year, "A Starry Night" features an all Asian cast including Singapore singer Mei Xin, Nathan Lee of Korean boy band TAKE, Chinese singer and actor Ivan Huang and Taiwanese singer Sky Wu.
"A Starry Night" will be screened on television displays at MRT trains stations along the North-South and East-West lines about once an hour, about 18 times a day. It will also be shown on train, train station and bus shelter displays in seven Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Following its subway launch, the drama will be expanded into a feature film for theatrical release.
Mando-pop singer Poon became a household name after finishing second in the first season of Project Super Star in 2005. Her debut album "Love Me Kelly" released in 2006 broke sales records in Singapore. The 26-year-old who is now based in Taiwan, recently released her third album "Smiling Kelly".

the trains on circle line have and upcoming c151a?
The article states tv screens in Singapore stations, and in trains and stations in HK etc, so it means Singapore trains aren't going to show them.
Meaning no to it being played in C751B, NEL.
Anyway CCL trains and 151 trains have no tv.
Does that mean we will now have to wait 2.5 mins for the full screen train arrival timing and tahan the small train timing display that flashes every min or so during that sway 1 hour eg 12pm, 1pm.

Apologies. For a moment there accidentally misintepreted 151 as being 151A with the A suffix. Error has since been rectified.
