Train arrival accuracies

  In Japan, the trains reach and leave each station with high accuracies, and print out magazines of the arrival timing of all trains at all station for the whole month.

  Calculating the minimum price and minimum travel time for travel between different station is a hobby of train maniacs over there too.

  Will Singapore be able to do the same for their train services?

  uhhmm.... i don't think japan can let trains leave the station with high accuracies..... have you ever seen the videos on youtube of trains during peak....?? compared to tokyo mrt singapore mrt isn't crowded during peak...

  having a train timetable have its pros and cons...in singapore, there's nothing much being a train maniac and it's highly unlikely because we have more of a prediction system than timetable (timetable gives a lot of stress to train drivers and staff)...i have like so many acquaintances who hate mrt so much that they take the bus....as for japan, over time the timings have been adjusted to suit the congestion during rush hour so the train still come on time (and the staff got to block passengers from boarding when train is too full)

  Never accurate.

  If Platform A shows 5mins to arrival and Platform B 3 mins, sometimes the one that arrives first is the former.
