I got a question, in the event of brake failure how the track circuit interruptor will help? Just by cutting out the power supply to the train what about stopping the train before it hit the bumper.
Today at about 4.20pm at pasir ris, i saw 319/320 parked at the end of the tracks beyond PSR. Dunno what happened though.

I'm sure the ATS will stop it also...
Everything can be prevented, with the ATS systems and such.
The emergency plunger available in every stations, works in a way, where it will send a signal to the train approaching it, and it will stop immediately after the button is pressed.
It sends a signal, by a circuit breaker. If you have seen it, its on the tracks, a black color box. It sends signals via rail IIRC to the train that is approaching.
Thus, must remember, the train will need sometime to stop after the plunger is pressed. Therefore, anyone who jumped at the tracks when there is a train approaching, can be said "useless".
It is due to the physics. Inertia. Especially a heavy trainset it'll take some time to slow down and stop.

Ah yess.. Inertia..
Hahaha, physics exam is on Friday.. Gotta hit the books.. Tmr is E-Math P1 and chemistry. damn.

A train with brakes failed doesn't go aywhere due to the fail-safe mechanism. Unless the driver is stupid enough to override the emergency brakes without proper authorisation...
