Danger: Doors open, but where's the train?

Staff had to open platform doors manually due to signal fault: SMRTSMRT says staff at Tiong Bahru MRT Station had to manually open the platform doors due to a signal fault, to allow passengers to board and alight from the trains.
The reply came after STOMPer HB saw the open platform doors and was worried that it might endanger the lives of commuters.
In its reply, SMRT said:
"On 25 February at around 8.40pm, the platform screen doors in Tiong Bahru MRT Station could not open due to a signal fault.
"As a result, station staff had to manually open the doors to allow passengers to board and alight from the trains.
"Station staff including those from nearby stations were mobilised and deployed immediately to the platform area of the affected station to guide passengers who were alighting from the trains and kept those who were waiting for the train, away from the opened doors.
"Announcements were also made over the Public Address System in the station to inform passengers to stay clear of the doors.
"More than 20 SMRT staff, and maintenance crew, were mobilised to ensure safety, assist commuters and rectify the problem.
"It took about one hour for the situation to be resolved." -
my goodness , in tunnel trains usually travel faster ...

yes yes. i like to cycle at the stretch near redhill where the trains are heading out the 'partial' tunnel.can smell, nice.
