Danger: Doors open, but where's the train?

Much to the horror of a commuter, who was at the Tiong Bahru MRT station, the platform doors were open, but the train was nary in sight.And later, the train did pull up at the platform, but whilst it was doing so, the doors remained open!Said HB, who recounted the incident which took place on Feb 25 at about 9:30 PM
"I saw all doors were open but no sight of train.
"I'm not sure what's going and thought it was probably some technical faults.
"The MRT staff broadcasts through its PA system about safety and warns of opening doors, but there's no sight of any MRT staff or safety personnel.
"I felt that it was pretty dangerous.
"Furthermore the broadcast was done in English and not all people may understand what's going on.
"Given so many cases of people falling into MRT tracks, the authority should be more safety-conscious." -

how much more dangerous is it compared to the open air ones that don't even have a door.........
If idiots jump in through the open doors, it's not a matter of safety it's a matter of crime prevention

Can you imagine the first case of people getting hit by a train in an underground station with platform doors?

I was there last night when the thing happened. The train I was in jerked when approaching tiong bahru station. They said there was some technical problem because they're able to open the train doors but the platform doors wont open so the staff had to open a few manually to let the passengers out. Both wentbound and east bound doors were jammed. I think they decided to open all the doors because its troublesome for them to open and close all manually everytime when the train pulls into the station.

aiyaya. my bday ytd ley. such a nice present for me but i did not go to receive it. :( i love the smell in the tunnels. i can just stand there for as long as possible man. still stick out head to see whats inside somemore...

Ok i tell you all , if you find such things happening , you should capture it , photo or video better . Then report to LTA showing the evidence . Then will have effect 1 . You all put here " no relevent parties " will bother abt it . They just take it as covered up .
