  Why they put the sign "WARNING TRACK CIRCUIT INTERRUPTOR AHEAD" in the terminal station? A safety device?

  I think it is to prevent trains who somehow overshot from continue moving forward. If I'm not wrong, It will cut the electricity to the train.
