Why you want to just be an officer when you can be a captain?
A bus captain.
and maybe will promote to bus colonel in the furture loh.
aiyah, TS wish mah..
A bus captain is quite dangerous, as recently there's cases of bus captain get robb and so on, that's why. If really can't get into a TO, then may consider bus captain:)
Anyway, what's the basic pay for a TO, anyone know?
Thanks for the reply:)
not really sure about the pay..
i'm sure the experience matters most rite..
What type of experience?
*Asking, are you the admin of the forum? (QX179R)
nope, i'm not the admin nor mod for this forum or the overall forum..
wat i meant by experience is that being a TO, the day to day experiences..
Oh, what kind of experiences did those TO encounter before? You know?
Okay i see, anyway, sorry that mistaken you as the admin:)
not really sure..
but perhaps some of them did experience the pple falling onto the tracks coz previously, there used to be many accidents happened on elevated stns..
If somehow, a TO accidentally knock a person down, as in, the person fell into the track, will the TO be punish or get fired?

its not the TOs fault coz it all happens to suddenly..
but they may be asked to assist in investigations..
So still can continue as TO right? Or get fired?
depends on what is the outcome of the investigations..
like this abit risky to become a TO. zzz
every job has its own risks..
but still, the occurance of an accident happening is still very low..
okay thanks alot! Thanks for your reply too!:)
By 2012, PSDs will be up at all stations. No more people on tracks. Just woory about legs stuck in platform gaps.

And for me, wouldn't drive the midnight trains ... ...
what do you mean by " wouldn't drive the midnoght trains"? were you trying to say "ride" instead of "drive"? or are you a TO?

I hardly see Chinese a TO because i'm a Chinese, that's why i scare they might not want to recruit chinese. For forwalk-in interview, where is the places that i can walk-in interview? And also roughly how they base their salary?
Thanks for the reply:)
*I'll keep you guys updated!
Oh..i'm 20 this year.Yah,most TO are Malays but some are Chinese & Indians.I did attend de walk-in interview early last year @ JE station, even de interviewer is a Chinese..he told me that those posted for this job will undergo 6 months training..most likely @ Bishan Depot..
As for de walk-in interview,u can check it in de newspapers, preferably ST or de SMRT website:click careers, then click classified..
Walk-in interviews are conducted @ various MRT stations..

you sure not? 2012 there's not any more Train Officer to operate? Then like this, my ambition is gone?
Din89, so are you Chinese or Malay? What's your highest Cert? Mind telling?:)
As you mentioned that you went for the walk-in interview last year, you apply already? Will it be confirm that they will recruit us if we fill in their application form?
Thanks!

Nono.. PSD is Platform screen doors to prevent people from jumping onto the tracks. They still need a TO to operate the train
oh i see:) I tought no need anymore TO to operate. Untill now, i still don't know, how they base on their salary? Anyone knows?
Thanks for your reply:)
I am not a TO lah.
What I meant was that nobody will fall onto the PSDs are installed. Incidents of legs stuck in platform gaps will rise.
