Train frequencies....

Wonder why Singapore govenment or any related authorities punish SMRT for their super inefficiencies...be it bus, trains or taxis, all so inefficient one...Trains..haiz...peak hrs leh...if u stay north like woodlands, you nid to wait 5 to 7 mins per train...how ridiculous. during non-peak even worse...8 to 10 mins...blatantly wasting our precious time. Somemore still wanna raise prices. Mayb we shld one day march to SMRT HQ to demand higher frequencies...no wonder nobody recognizes our train system....for east-west line, same thing happens la...dun deny...SMRT always deny themselves..saying bcos what not....time to wake up their ideas and do sth rather den just talk and talk...SHUT UP and WORK SMRT

Please check the news a few months ago.
The affected company have already been fined for the frequency about a few thousand dollars.
The situation is being monitored and your feedback is being highlighted.
The punishment is also been given.

when was the last time u went into the mrt station~ waiting times during nonpeak are like lesser than 6 minutes now and peak lesser than 3 when i take it

Cos SMRT is 40% owned by garmen through Mdm Ho Ching's company, if you fine them, garmen don't gain.

The frequencies are one of the causes for some of my friends preferring direct-but-long buses over the quicker MRTs. Some time ago I was in HK, and their train/MTR always came below 5 minutes, and most of the time it's 2 to 3 minutes which is rather in contrast to Singapore's. I was in Japan and they did have some periods where the frequency was longer but at least they had a standard time-table showing at what time the train would arrive. (at least you feel secure knowing roughly what time the train will arrive) I believe that the MRT has a time-table but they refuse to show it so that they can drag a '1 minute to next train' into somewhat like 2 to 2.5 mnutes on the LCD monitor. Seriously, I think the time-table method is the best way to appease all angry commuters who think train frequencies are terribly bad. And of course, shorter frequencies as well. (In the past I could get a seat on the EW line but now I can't at all even in the day time. Time for a reform.) =P

the frequency for non-peak should be at an average of 4.5 to 5.5mins, not 6-7mins, and usually peak periods frequency is around 3mins or so. smrt should make it at an average of 2mins per train. i noticed sometimes at city hall, passengers from 2 southbound trains arrive and board 1 eastbound train, and when the next eastbound train arrives, the next southbound train has not yet arrived, so every alternate train has much more passengers than the one before. i feel that the timing of arrival of trains is so wrong...

okay lor. can hear airhorn. can hear last train announcements..
during the great january accident last year, the first train entering station announcement(your usual stand behind yellow line) sounded different. sekali i hear... "no service to tanah merah!". i str8away call my friend ask them take car to camp coz' no trains.
oh and i heard this in toilet while i pi sai at 0525hrs.
