confucius says....
people who already know they shouldnt do something
and do it anyway
yet feel beh song when they get caught
usually are the same people
who beh song if other people do the exact same thing
but happen to inconvenience them while doing it
Scold the stompers lah... They are the root to anything cannot do on SMRT.

if you're really in need of water, until your lips become pale and dry those type, i'm sure that people woudn't mind you taking a sip or two.
but c'mon la. this is Singapore ok. even if you take from boon lay to pasir ris, also wont take you 2 hours ok. tahan abit will die?

just because of bringing drinks in the stations.. isn't this like, so out of their business? aren't they suppose to take care of the station's security, looking for the selamat guy, suspicious article or person, why are they so bloody kpo abt ppl bringing drinks inside..
and like, wthell, $50 fine?
i think it's ok if it's bottled drinks - won't spill etc.
i mean.. u can't blame SMRT for taking steps to prevent spilling etc. it's not as if, singaporeans are reputable for being civic minded. we're known to be rude, kiasu, and self centered. how can we blame SMRT for taking steps to prevent the messes we will make because we probably won't clean up after ourselves..
Haha TS sounds like a whiney-baby.
but at least have the right person to reprimand the commuters??
not transit security...

why fatone always use pic to reply lol...
so are u addressing the issue of bringing food into the stations, or mrt security personnel performing outside of their job scope?
bottled drinks, can la..
those drinks that wouldnt spill easily, are allowed..
put in bag lor... why expose to be caught...
Innocent until proven guilty....TS should not be reprimanded if he is only carrying the drink. If he is caught drinking, its a different story.
Anyway, its nonsense if we cannot even bring food or drinks into the train (excl. durians of coz).
Afraid of spillage etc? C'mon, are we so paranoid? Unless the TS is a small child, he should know how to carry his drink properly. If we think along those lines, then pretty soon, we cannot even bring food or drinks into a lot of public places.
There are more important things in life to think about, but because we are too engrossed in our ownselves, we forget about our duties and resposibilities to others.
sg is a nanny state... till the extend that they dun trust it ppl with their foods and drinks.
But then isnt it basic courtesy not to drink or eat in public which u might risk creating a mass that where it will attract pets infestation?

seem like you've never worked before....see you try tell your boss "why so kpo, do feel like working today leh!"
But sometime when we had sorethroat and not allow to drink in the train, will be torturinggg...
Originally posted by iceFatboy:imagine this, you are the one without the drinks, you stand in the middle, just chatting with your friend.. suddenly, the MRT jerks.. out of the right, a kopi comes flying into your torso, turning your shirt from white to mud..
before you can even "kn..", someone from left, squeezes too hard on his tomato sauce and it just shoots into your face..
and you just pissed.. decides to align at the next stop to clean up..
when you walking towards the door, you slips on the bubble tea pearls, sending your handphone between the gaps of the MRT train onto the track, and you felt flat on your face, losing two front teeth..
and that's why, we should be civil enough to not bring drinks/food on mrt train.
Nice explanation.
