I still prefer hongkong's travel information system, it sort of better like when you reach an interchange stn, like tanahmerah, the lights on expo and changi airport would blink, indicating that you can transfer at the current stn to reach the station blinking on the map (:

it is a very bad idea, i hope that they do not implement it.
BTW, i took it two times already.
It doesnt matter, in this case, whether they pass the cost to commuters or not.
It is the electricity wastage. And it just makes the train weak, drawing too much power.
Try and notice the speaker, especially at Bukit Gombak "Next station...." only.
Third Rail technology not really recommended to use this new system.
Oh ya, electricity charge increase 21% right? xD

lol...Energy saver here XD
but seriously, i think this extra electricity is connected together with the power with the lamps etc. to further made electricity more efficent... afterall, we have a V. efficient demanding compancy...lolz

Today was on train with new info sys...It was doing shuttle runs between Tanah Merah & Changi Airport. At least it was working well this time...Lights showing right station and doors flashing exit is working well too....

I just took 053/054 yesterday night on EWL westbound as well.
I believe the speakers are not weakened, but that the recordings are trying to synchronise with the VFD, then end up keep breaking up.
In fact the system missed out quite a few next station announcements till Jurong East before it got better.

took 054/053 today from dhoby ghaut to yew tee :D
so fun. its the train that ive been looking for
