I was on this train with new Info Sys last nite & was excited to see this new sys . Surprise as this train was plying the Tanah Merah-Changi Airport which is rare...But the whole sys was not up to it's best yet. I know it's in the testing now...But hope to see this sys work better..

A bit off topic: Reminds me of the trains/subways that I took in Japan. Some of its new generation trains have LCD displays too which shows the destinations.

i hunt today from 1 to 3.40 (till boon lay broke down service... heard Melson~should be~ annoucement)

the whole system repeated itself... no result..

now at nite... come out, lots ppl saw it...

i WANNA SCREAM :'( *+ CRY SOB...

Heh, I took it on the Changi Airport shuttle when it was unrefurbed, by then it was one of the few C151s to have the old announcement.

O.O Wa nice. Thanks for posting the videos^^. I still didn't manage to take the trial trains....zzz.

But anyway I noticed that the STARIS that was fixed in the refurbished C151 trains is similar to the C751B "VPIS" (Visual Passanger Information System). Are they actually the same? Also, will they still use the VPIS or change to the new format for STARIS?

with Chinese wordings and tamil wordings?

or it it for preparation for STARIS?

I think its normal for the 3G trainset that you are travelling on. Usually the 3G LED displays are off, but there will be those few trainsets that still display the time, and this unique one that forever displays that multi language testing screen. Don’t think its anything because it happens only like on that trainset plus even so not all screens in that trainset are operational, and they are displaying rubbish, and there are a lot of dead pixels in the existing LEDs already.

STARIS can display Chinese and Tamil words as well.

yea i know... dat's why i was shocked that the 3g trainset's LCD screen started showing chinese words... so was thinking was it for STARIS dat's why it started showing chinese characters and tamil wordings
