  23rd October 555 pm JST, a JR Tokai N700 Shinkansen train (16 cars) derailed on the way back to the depot at Hamamatsu.

  The train was a new unit and had just completed testing from Tokyo to Shin Osaka and back. The train was returning to the Hamamatsu depot (Shizuoka Prefecture) when it derailed at a crossing at about 5 km/h. The first two cars were dislodged from the rails.

  There were no passengers on board. 30 crew members who were on the train were not hurt (crew for testing not operations). The crossing was affected and JR Tokai is investigating the cause.

   

  Be grateful that it is 5 km/h and not 300 km/h.
