Yesterday about 4pm on West-East Line, I noticed that d driver deliberately apply brakes (when approaching every station) in such a way that many passengers will need maximum effort to keep balanced.
Is the driver mentally sick or psychotic?
maybe new driver? maybe brakes faulty? y say purposely?
maybe the driver knew the TS was onboard and was trying to murder him?

Blame yourself for the fats you carried.
Definitely because of TS's presence in the train...

First things first, it's called East-West line no matter in which direction it goes. And which part of the EWL?

If it's raining, then it may explain why so. Different TOs have different ways of approaching the station.
If the weather was fine, the computer itself would not have used such speed codes unless the TO keeps pushing his stick to emergency brake.
HAHA this thread cracked me up.
i'm sorry.
i'm very scared when entering stations. scared people jump. so i slow down first.
2 months ago,i was waiting with my friend at the middle platform in tanah merah stn.then there were some works going on just infront of the platform in the tracks.then this train arrived very slowly because of the works.then the driver stopped the train way before the yellow arrow markings on the platform.and his cabin door stopped before the platform.looked like he had difficulties controlling the train as he did this same thing also in the expo stn.
Well, the MRT driver has to at least make an effort to stop for all the people jumping onto the tracks...
hmmm.... i think most mrt drivers are okay..... some brake hard.... not comfortable.. but still okay, managed to balance most of the time

wah.. ALL the people.
around 6 pm++ today i boarded a train 007/008 on the east west line from tanah merah to city hall.... it was a very disappointed rides as this train is moving too slow and just start and stop on the go... it made me feel so giddy and other passengers do feel the uncomfortables too.... many were shocked too....
They are trying to maintain the schedule and timing, if not, the train may clash with the train in front.
being stuck in that tiny capsule right in front of the train for long periods of time, having to bring you thousands of people to where you wanna go, i think can sometimes get on the already frayed nerves.
or maybe he just fell in love with the train brakes. great way to torture fellow singaporeans.
I think I met such a driver/train today. I am writing my blog entry about it right now - when it's ready, I will put it up.

I think it's a safety issue. If the train goes too fast, it might derail when it rolls over all the dead bodies lying on the tracks.
When this train came, the crowd on board was even worse than what I have seen happen in earlier evening hours; as I mentioned earlier, it's nearing Japanese standards.
Japan is all about utilization, not having fun in squeezing people on trains.
Here, I don't know what is it, but I am not commenting as I do not take the train often.

Don't worry - it's the kind that contains only noise, not saliva. And it's at the lower part of the train.

Me? An elite?
If real elites took the trains everyday, we won't have trains that are this crowded.
I'm not making an unrealistic demand - sure, trains will get crowded during rush hours, but the crowds of today is definitely worse than what I have seen in the past, compounded by the longer headways we have today.
I'm not asking for a train carriage all to myselves; all I'm asking for is shorter waiting times so the crowds can be spread more thinly across more trains, rather than packed more intensely into less trains.
