Any railway fans out there who loves KTM trains?
KTM
please explain why
the train is sucky.
evidence?
the seats are uncomfortable
took the train once and never want to take it agan
hmm.. seats are uncomfortable? did you take the AEC( Air conditioned Economy Class)? should take the ASC (Air conditioned Second Class)
haha.i don't really hate taking KTM.So long nv take liao. The 1st carriage got the restaurant de.Then damn small lol
Whih seats did you take? Seats range from cheap plastic to 20+ inches wide sofas in private rooms. Different trains has different class combinations. The restaurant (buffet coach) in undergoing reconditioning. For those who say it's bad, do give proper evidence and not just a rant. Thanks.

Since you are from the KTMRFC, I ask you a question why they still use the old diesel locomotive to haul the passangers carriages?

Hmm... What is your definition of "old" because there are new locomotives such as the Dalian Class 29 which are also diesel locomotives. Anyway, all intercity trains must use diesel locomotives since like what Interception_7 said, not all areas are electrified. The only electrified areas are Seremban to Ipoh and Port Klang KTM Komuter station to Sentul.
been a KTM traveller all my life
lived in Johor Baru and Labis, back then i dont take express
nowadays yes
i am glad Labis is an express stop
when they going to build two lines bullet train intercity??

I mean why are they not using the Blue Tiger the locomotive? If one day they can electrified the whole line just the Taiwan the Taiwan 高, almost all the lines were interconnected then It would offer another alternative to budget airlines.
At the moment they are still slow and the fare is not cheap. If from Singapore to Butterworth it would take more than 12 hours!
At least the trains have soft comfurtable fur seats and headrests.and the aircon is not too bad either.i took the train one time on night from KL>sin.and the aircon was freezing.man i couldnt even sleep properly.my toes felt like freezing in my shoes.

The class 26(Blue tiger) is mainly used to haul frieght and cargo trains.i dont know if this is true, but this is what i have observed.

I agree with you.many people have not seen the full power of KTM trains yet.
2 months ago,i read in the new paper that KTM will be buying new passenger coaches.the article said that passengers can surf the internet, hold birthday parties and many other things.if i remembered correctly, the article said that this new passenger coaches will arrive in 2010.sadly i dont know where is that newspaper now.
I took the trains in several seating configurations.
Singapura-Johor Barau
I commence on this ride on a cushion seat cabin. The seats are releatively fine but several problem exsisted. Firstly, the seats are a little dirty and some micro-organism may have been infested the seats. Secondly, the air-conditioning are not so "power". Finally, the cabin looks are like it had not been renovated for years.
Singapura-KL
On this ride, i took the First Class Cabin (Without Toilet). It had been with a double decker bed and a washing tap. This room was a breeze and is quite cosy and comfortable.
However, when i went to the meal car, the meals served there are rotten already.....i am not kidding.
Therefore, I felt that a plane or ferry is better than KTM.

Blue Tiger is capable of hauling more than 100 BCFs (Bogie Container Freight) should the newly upgraded track allow if I'm not wrong. This is evident in other countries such as Europe. Hence it's not economically-viable to use then on, say, 4 car passenger trains like the Kembara.
The cost of double-tracking and electrifying has more than increased 5-fold in the past 10 years. Moreover, doucle tracking is not possible in Singapore. Think Bukit Timah Railway bridge, Ten Mile Railway Crossing, AYE, Buona Vista tunnel etc. Anyway, LTA doesn't like overhead catenary wires which is what KTMB is using now.
Aiya, bus from Singapore to Penang also 12 hours what.
