multilingual announcements

  Maybe smrt should have announcements in 4 national languages ... and can expand on sbs's idea. instead of only "please mind the gap" in 4 languages, can have everything in 4 languages.

  Like:

  1. Doors are closing. 车门�将关闭。Pintu-pintu sendang ditutupkan. (Tamil equivalent)
  2. Next station, Bukit Gombak. 下一站，武�甘�。Stesen berikutnya, Bukit Gombak. (Tamil equivalent)
  3. Raffles Place Interchange. Interchange station for the North-South Line towards Jurong East. 下一站，莱佛士å�Šã€‚乘客å�¯ä»¥è½¬ä¹˜å�—北线往裕廊东沿途å�„站。Persimpangan Raffles Place. Persimpangan untuk Landasan Utara-Selatan ke arah Jurong East. (Tamil equivalent)
  4. Next station, Outram Park Interchange. Interchange station for the North-East Line. 下一站，欧�园。乘客�以转乘东北线。Stesen berikutnya, Persimpangan Outram Park. Persimpangan untuk Landasan Timur-Laut. (Tamil equivalent)
  5. Marina Bay. This train service terminates at this station. All passengers please alight. Thank you for travelling with SMRT. Marina Bay. Please mind the platform gap. 滨海湾。本站是终点站，所有的乘客请下车。谢谢乘æ�­SMRT列车。滨海湾。请å°�心月å�°ç¼�隙。Marina Bay. Perkhidmatan tren ini tamat di stesen ini. Semua penumpang diminta turun.   there is only 1 national language and it's not even the most spoken/understood language in singapore which is english

  Actually got already what...SBS Transit has English and Chinese station name announcements, and please mind the gap in 4 lanuguages for NEL.

  I dunno Chinese or Tamil translation, so I just give my humble Malay translation la...

  Next station, xxx = Stesen berikutnya, xxx
  Please mind the platform gap = Sila berhati-hati di ruang platfom

  Eating or drinking is not allowing in the trains and stations.
  =Dilarang makan atau minum dalam gerabak keretapi dan stesen.

  For the comfort of all passengers, please move to the centre of the car.
  = Demi keselesaan para penumpang, sila bergerak ke tengah gerabak.

  Next Station, outram park interchange. Passengers who are continuing their journey on the north-east line, please alight at the next station.
  = Stesen berikutnya, persimpangan outram park (taman outram? lol). Para penumpang yang meneruskan perjalanan melalui Landasan Timur-Laut, sila turun di stesen berikutnya.

  = Tren ini akan bertukar ke landasan tengah sebentar lagi. Demi keselamatan anda, sila pegang tiang atau penggengam tangan.(?)

  = Perkhidmatan tren ini tamat di stesen ini. Semua penumpang diminta turun. Terima kasih atas perjalanan melalui SMRT.

  We apologize for the sudden braking, this train will resume normal service shortly (I heard this only once, when C651 suddenly braked for no reason... too close to the train ahead, I presume?)
  = kami memohon maaf atas hentian mengejut, tren ini akan meneruskan perkhidmatan seperti sediakala sebentar lagi.

   

  P.S> Cut the crap about four languages. I prefer it to be only English. It's kinda distracting with too many languages.

  Too much languages lah...I almost feel that MRT annonuce to much, especially including the Terroist warning annonucement....headaches...Spare me some peace..

  It would be good to have 4 languages at only annoucing the instructions for transfers at an interchange station.

  It would be ideal to have all door closing annoucements replaced with a Dennis Trident doors closing chime and all station annoucements removed except for interchange stations.

  how about tourists? you can replace ALL station announcements. can remove the "next station" announcements, but keep the station announcements.

  For interchanges, still have to announce in 4 langs.

  can cut all the crap about "Passengers continuing their journey to ..." Just have to make it very concise and it won't sound long and draggy. Then can ask Ms/Mrs/Mdm Juanita Melson to come and record the announcements again.

  announce is extra service for those who not sure of their way, not meant for local who already know their way.
