yepps the cordon off has been done abit and construction has started abit
there are also some construction works on the east side of the track along jurong east central, the blocks beside the track (288B, 288E) will become nearer to the track in future, why dont they build on the west side instead? the tracks can always be shifted a bit mah, anyway they are doing a new track...

NS Line trains to crossover to EW Line directly during peak hrs or return to Ulu Pandan Depot(inbetween JE/Clementi Stns) as the east side track is also linked to the EB track.
The west side is NB(twds Marina Bay).
So they have to build the new link to the new EB track as the current link will be use for SB trains to JE if one track is occupied.
Also a big area is needed to construct the holding base of the new pillars for the new track & for the construction vechicles to move about.
Just bear with it.
i mean, the track can be re-aligned, right? the alignment doesnt have anything to do with which side they build the new pillar mah...
I feel that they should make JE on two levels, both with two tracks. The lower level will be NSL and upper is EWL, two tracks each. There will be tracks connecting the NSL with the EWL for xover trains. how does this sound?
at where de lols me no sure

Possible, since the concourse is more than 4.5m. Just that the concourse have to be shifted to somewhere else or shared with the platform itself. If they shift the concousre to the first floor, can say goodbye to Popular and all the other shops.

one more floor over it.

How to realigned, tear down current track???
The alignment does have to do with which side they build the new pillar.
Space restricted + the calculated angle for track to join the new EB track + the current tracks are still in use are taken into consideration by the designer for this project with minimum incovenience caused to the residents nearby.
Those living near Circle Line construction site suffered much more the U...
The area near the tracks towards BB also being fenced up this wk.
Buses have to slow down while entering/exiting Jurong East Bus Int
Two rail projects to be brought forward
The transport ministry will buy more trains and speed up two rail projects to further improve rail capacity.
22 new trains will be added to the fleet , to be delivered progressively from 2011.
On infrastructure developments, the government will bring forward improvement works to the Jurong East station as well the construction of the new North-South line extension.
The rail extension, which will see the train network being extended further into the Marina Bay area, will be brought forward by a year to be ready by 2014.
The Jurong East Modification Project, or JEMP which aims to reduce the infrastructure constraints of the station, is now expected to be ready by 2011 instead of 2012.
Transport Minister Raymond Lim announced this in Parliament today.
" With the JEMP, the headway during peak periods can drop to about 2 minutes along the busiest stretches of the North-South-East-West line . This represents an increase in capacity of about 15 per cent so commuters. This improvement will cost us about $800 million and enable the North-South-East-West line to meet projected demand all the way till 2020. "

Those areas beside the EB track are covered with stones n used tar for the construction vehicles to move about.
If U notice the area, a new track pillar will be built at the centre divider near the EB track along Jurong East St 12.
i think all buses will use new concrete path in between MRT tracks to exit JE Int that 52, 97,143,183,333,334,335,506 always come out.
there is road surface leveling on JE Int entrance if i not wrong.
maybe the bus interchange will be relocated or just the parking lots for bus will be relocated..
hopefully JE int will be relocated and with AC

Under the Jurong Lake District Blueprint, Jurong East Bus Int(most likely A/C) become an integrated commercial & transport hub.
Originally posted by Khairiano:maybe the bus interchange will be relocated or just the parking lots for bus will be relocated..
The current parking lots will be used for building the holding beams/support base of tracks connector pillars & large area is needed. Construction for the holding beams of the base support has starting at a few site currently.
Rumour JE Int will be relocated there while the construction the Jurong Gateway project started.
the new parking lot under MRT viaduct has marked with yellow boxes alrdy. seems like the behind 2 row of current JE Int parking lots will be shifted to there.
