  I have some suggestions on future lines: 1. We should have a more centrally placed circle line. The current one is more of a suburban circle line to me; that is it links the suburbs to the city mainly via a circle. That centrally placed circle line would result in a line similar to the Yamanote line in Tokyo where almost all the stations are interchanges. It should include these stations: Orchard, Little India, Kampong Glam, Bugis, Esplanade, Marina Bay, Raffles Place, Harbour Front, Chinatown. Somewhat like a circle though vague, but it's good to link all of the major central spots of Singapore. 2. Regional Centre line. Seeing example from the Fukutoshin line in Tokyo, which links the secondary city centres of Ikebukuro, Shinjuku and Shibuya, we should have one to relieve the crowd. From Tampines, it will cut to Hougang, then to Ang Mo Kio and cut through Mandai to Choa Chu Kang and terminate at Boon Lay. A branch line will cut up to Woodlands and join back with the line again. This is good for commuters who stay in East/West and have to work in West/East. Another line could cut down to Toa Payoh and back up to the line but it's enough with the North-South line so it's kind of a waste of money. 3. Private Competitor I've been noticed the single track line that goes from Tanjong Pagar to Woodlands which is owed by the Malaysian company. In fact, they could take advantage of the situation. Perhaps by offering a quicker route down to the Tanjong Pagar from Woodlands, they could turn it into a commuter line as well. (they would have to dual track it) It'll start from Woodlands down to perhaps Bukit Panjang, then down to Buona Vista and to Bukit Merah and finally Tanjong Pagar. That line could be a very strong competitor for SMRT. And if they offer rapid services down during rushhour, more people may choose to take it instead if they can charge competitive fees with SMRT. 4. Airport Rapid Express For a higher fee, SMRT could expand major interchange stations to be 4-tracked and create a rapid service from Changi Airport to Boon Lay and another north from Woodlands. Of course the seats will be more of reserved rather than free seating.

  Pulau Ubin Extension To the Current EWL

  The extension would be build from the current existing tracks at Pasir ris.

  Half of the extension would be underwater (if posible) to allow no disruptions to ships and boats in the water.

  NEL was planned to go into Pulau Ubin iirc. But it was probably scrapped because of environmental concerns.

  they planned to build LRT along Jurong East/West Ave 1, but then the BPLRT doesnt turn out to be good, so they drop the idea about JRLRT. Hope they can change their mind now and build JRLRT, so many traffic lights along Jurong East/West Ave 1...

  I think additional lines i put in - KPE Line, Mandai Line and Lim Chu Kang Line. After 2030, other future lines include new branch of Seletar Line which will go from Kallang, via Kallang Bahru, Whampoa, Toa Payoh East, Bishan Depot, Chong Boon to Ang Mo Kio, including new TPS-Ang Mo Kio Line from Blk 140 to Big Mac Centre.

  BPLRT was lousy but the Sengkang/Punggol LRT is quite smooth. so they dont need to worry about new LRT lines turning out to be like BPLRT because now its the newer system.

  I would also suggest LRT lines in future if feasible to link one MRT line to another instead of just acting like feeder loop services from a central area which is what its currently doing. e.g. North Shore Line could use light rail if it is practical, or future lines which link AMK to hougang etc could use LRT.

  currently if transfer from MRT to LRT it is like transferring to another mode of transport like feeder bus so the fare is higher. if they use LRT to link different MRT lines then they could consider integrating LRT and MRT as the same mode of transport(just like transferring to CCL which links the radial lines is still the same mode of transport).

  Also, LRT can also go underground if space limited.

  Also I suggest they provide a midway link from ERL to the CCL(e.g. Dakota) or the EWL(e.g. Bedok), because the only link from ERL to other MRT lines is Marina Bay and Changi
