Just interested to know, how does the TO changes mode from Auto to CM? :D
And just one note, there was once I took the first train from Clementi station (0606hrs) and afetr leaving Buona Vista station, the train was on CM mode, there were several low tone beeps as the train is travelling, and soon, there weas one long low tone beep and brakes were applied immediately after it ended. Does it mean that the train exceeded the sectional speed?
Correct if i am wrong: The emergency brakes are applied by controller, through a big red button on the board and not by the stick?
Some terms I may not be sure as I am more into the Japanese system of ATS and so on...
Yes the brake will automatically apply after the 3-4 secs (depend on the calibration) beeps if the T.O fail to slow down.
Manual emergency brakes can be apply on the 'big red button on the desk, on the left side of the cabin and also at the master controller handle which u call it a 'stick'.
lastly, i am sorry that i unable to tell how the T.O switches to CM or to AUTO, RM and so on... this is for the safety concern. i again sorry. i can't tell u.
Ok dats it. I'm not going to open a train school here... atleast u guys already have the idea how the train stops or stop suddenly and so on.. btw... we're off topic here..
So i'm signing off,

Haha I see, appreciate it :D
Yeah sorry for asking too much also, understand your situation... :D
Thanks.

what is speed codes? in SMRT system (for those who wants to know) it is always :
MAX SPEED / Next TARGET SPEED.
so its when the train is approaching red aspect (light) this how it works before train come to the stop at speed code 0/0
78/77, 78/61, 62/39, 40/0, 0/0. This apply to CM & AUTO. So if it's in CM driving, the T.O has to watch out for the speed codes.

I'm not sure if I am right here but just want to confirm. Imagine the scenario: for a train leaving AMK SB, at departure the speed code is 62/39, so the train accelerates to the target speed and hold. After the crossover, the speed code immediately changes to 78/61 or 78/77 so the train moves on to 61 or 77 km/h depending on schedule adherence as calculated by the AM mode? Thanks for the enlightment.
it's always 77km/h for allovated (pls correct my spelling) and sometimes 61km/h for underground. It depends anyway. =D
