Guess the modified ones have eliminated some of the really bad ones, like "OORRRchard" and "NoVVVEEEna", but somehow I have the feeling now that there are two announcers!

The modified announcement still sounds bad. The new Jurong East Interchange Announcement, sounds so wordy and mouthful, "Passengers who are continuing their journey to .....", -_-!!!! The new "Going to Johor Bahru" announcement sounds worse after being modified.
The money they that have spent on the new annoucements could be spent on mantaining their trains properly. After all, the new annoucer's voice is too high pitched and not sutiable for in train annoucements no matter what they do.

How much money do you think they spend on reformatting the announcements? Compare that with $142.7 million on refurbishment.
Not to forget, SMRT Corp had a huge turnover in profits last year.

Anyway, reformatting the announcements is unnecessary because the old ones are still working fine. So they can take the whatever cash they have and invest it on refurbishment instead.
331/332 just got new announcements recently! the latest modified version
