Anyone knows what happened? I saw 1 train at the middle platform and still got passengers on it. The next thing I knew was my classmates late...they said the trains moved a while and stopped. So what exactly happened? NS Line anway.

Yep, I was on 80A this morning. From my observations:
1) Train slowly pulled out of AMK at CM. (0554)
2) Keep on accelerating and decelerating throughout journey to Bishan.
3) Trains heading north towards JE were not affected initially.
4) The morning train addition from Bishan Depot SB was cancelled ultimately.
5) 80A (203/204) reached Bishan at 0604, 7 minutes behind schedule.
6) The next train was 1 minute behind.
7) (This is most interesting part) At 6.05am, the 57F train did not approach Bishan. Instead it's Plasma TV showed 6 minutes, which is roughly the distance from Novena to Bishan.
8) All other trains heading south bunched up at 1 minute intervals, all operating CM.
I do believe there was track fault too, because the 50F train in front of 203/204 also bunched up... hence causing a total wreck in morning schedules. The track fault should be somewhere around Newton to Somerset based on calculations because the 57F train was behind schedule too.
10 mins from AMK to Bishan... WOW. xD
Track fault causes delays in train services from Yishun to Marina Bay
16 April 2008 1337 hrs (SST) 0537 hrs (GMT)
SINGAPORE: South-bound train services from Yishun to Marina Bay MRT stations were delayed on Wednesday morning.
Operator SMRT said the delays were caused by a track fault between Ang Mo Kio and Bishan MRT stations.
It added that train services were uninterrupted, although passengers experienced longer travelling times as trains were travelling at a slower speed between the affected stretch.
Normal train services resumed at 9.45am. - CNA/ir

Maybe lor. But 80A is only the 3rd train of the day heading South in the morning.

Anyway I thought it is 51 (from Yishun), 50 (from Kranji), 78, 79 then 80?
I'm probably immersed in my own way of numbering their shifts. xD
A means the train does morning shift only, goes back to depot after peak.
F means full day train.
The TRN sequence was revised this year, 51 and 50 stayed but 78 became 80. 79 stayed. Then if I'm not wrong jump to 83.
Point failure.

Oh, I see. A track switch failed. Can elaborate on that. Manager?
Is it the Point Motor that caused the problem?
